This life is a wonderful journey. One filled with happiness as well as sadness. Ups and downs, wrong and right, suffering and pain, and finally, if you make the right choices…PEACE…
One day I awoke with these questions on my mind. Not for any particular reason. I just woke up and decided to put pen to paper and see what happens. Well, what happened was this…The words and questions that have always been there, came flooding into my mind.
Life, such a mystery… Born into a world of people. People that are searching. At first, not really knowing what they are searching for. Answers, what are they? The meaning of life? So many questions. How? Why?
The Truth…what is the TRUTH? Where do we find it? Why does everyone have a different version?
Searching, searching, and searching…So lost, why?
And then…Finally… The TRUTH…
It’s all around us, it always was. The Truth shall set you…
AND THEN, I thought that was it and I went to have a lie down. Words came swirling into my head. Why is my mind so active all of a sudden? I need to get some sleep. Words won’t stop coming. O.k., get up and get a book and pen. One line was persistent in my head. Better right it down must be a reason. And then, another and another, like flood gates that have just been opened. Questions, followed my answers came pouring forth. Better get up and right this down.
AND SO I DID…and this was born.
FINDING THE LIGHT
We can be love
We can be light
We do not have
To be our plight
World of darkness
Changed to light
HE will help us
In our fight
Bring us love
And bring us peace
Dear God
Please make this madness cease
What is faith
How will I grow
Believe in HIM
And letting go
The truth is there
For us to see
Just make the CHOICE
And you’ll be FREE
Step by Step
I take each day
I have to fight
To see the Light
I have to watch
I have to look
I have to read
The Holy Book
Each step I take
Each choice I make
I dare not make
Another mistake
Faith is growing
Day by day
It’s warmer here
I want to stay
Darkness fades
And peace is near
Each day I learn
No need to fear
Looking back
I see the path
Of one once blind
And in the dark
I was so lost
I was so hurt
Crawling around
In the dirt
Choices offered
Black and White
What will I do
Which way is right
Back and forth
Left and right
GOD help me do
What YOU know is right
A promise made
A promise kept
How far I’ve come
How far I’ve leapt
A Choice I made
To do what’s right
I thank YOU GOD
I see the light
It’s safer here
And warmer too
Please make the Choice

Loud and clear
I finally know
Why I am here…
Once I wrote this, I felt so happy and filled with light. Thank you God. I know some parts of this poem where a message for me. Other parts were my own realization of the Truth and how God is always there. Other lines were my realization of Gods promise that fulfilled. Either way, truly a beautiful message to everyone…
