For the year 2015 I gave myself a well-deserved vacation to the island of Cuba, a country located in the Caribbean Sea. The tour package offered five days in Havana (capital of the country) and then we would travel to Varadero, a tourist area with white sandy beaches and crystal clear waters.

The first few days were quiet, getting to know the city and the group of people accompanying us. My friend and I spent time alone, away from the crowd. After three days of sharing, we felt confident enough to participate outside of the company's scheduled activities.

It was Friday, after dinner we ran into some colleagues who were in the lobby taking advantage of the paid wifi to communicate with their families, in the rooms there was no internet. We approached them and after a while they invited us to walk on the boardwalk that was located about four blocks away.

At first I was intimidated, the insecurity that reigns in my country made me doubt whether or not I should walk through those dark streets at 9:00 pm, then they reminded me that in that country insecurity is minimal, plus with our tourist bracelets, it was safer that no one would approach us to harm us.

After that explanation I said... "the night is young, let's go". Since it was Friday, the malecon was very crowded, young people playing instruments and dancing, others drinking liquor, families walking with their children, children on bicycles and the police present at all times. I felt safe.

After some pictures we decided to go back to the hotel, but first we bought some beers I think German, I liked the presentation they were 500cc, I had never seen such a big beer. When they were finished, we went back to the store for more and sat on the comfortable furniture in the lobby.

Every time the beers were finished, a gentleman would go and buy some more. There were only two of us women, my friend and me. The alcohol was taking effect and the row was getting worse and worse, we were laughing at everything and my friend was the one taking pictures. Amidst the laughter and loud voices, we were politely kicked out of the lobby. We were disturbing the other guests. But before that the guys asked if any of us had a bottle of rum, as the locals were about to close.

I raised my hand and said..." I got it for you." I had done some shopping to take back to my country. I quickly went up to the room and got the bottle of white Havana Club Rum. Another companion got some ice at the hotel restaurant and another showed up with some lemons.

Then we continued with the scandal, but outside the hotel. At 5:00 am one of the guys said to go up to his room and wake up his partner who had not wanted to compete that night. He opened the door violently and everyone behind him euphoric not to say drunk, the friend jumped on the bed and almost hit his head on the ceiling.

We continued there for another half hour until I told my friend that we had to leave. When I entered the room I went straight to the bathroom, I needed to vomit, she realized she was looking for her phone to leave evidence of my drunkenness. I was on the floor, hugging the pot. I really don't know where those pictures ended up.

The next day, we had a walk through Old Havana, walking and walking under an early summer sun. I woke up at 9:00 a.m. and when I realized the time, I called my friend, the bus was leaving at 9:30 a.m. Without breakfast we got on the bus and all the accomplices of the previous night were there with a big bottle of water to pass the hangover.

We visited several places and when I had the chance I bought a drink to help my body get over the hangover. We had lunch at a restaurant and at the end of the afternoon we returned to the hotel.

As it was the last night in Havana, our new friends invited us to the hotel disco. The next day we would leave for Varadero after breakfast. After a while we got ready and met at the place. There was live music, an orchestra was in charge of entertaining the guests. Rounds of beers came and went, but that time we did not drink rum.

Before I knew it, we were all on the dance floor,we started dancing salsa and ended up perreando (dancing reggaeton). The truth is that liquor is an excellent source of inhibition. With the little coherence we had at 4:00 am we decided to go to sleep for a while to continue the fun on Sunday.

At 9:30 am with suitcases in hand we all lined up to check in and get on the bus. As soon as we started the ride, almost all the party people were asleep, I stayed awake so as not to be the subject of prying pictures. The ride was pleasant and we made several stops until we reached the new hotel. A beautiful pool and an even more beautiful beach welcomed us to enjoy for four days. Immediately after a refreshing swim, we met for dinner.

After two days of liquor excesses, this time no one wanted to overindulge. We only drank a couple of beers after the meal and went to sleep. The next day new adventures awaited us.

No doubt I lived a crazy weekend. Luckily I remember everything. I have had other crazy weekends that I will have the opportunity to share.

That's all for today, I hope this post is to everyone's liking. Thanks galenkp@galenkp for another weekend full of options to create content.

I say goodbye wishing you good energy 馃挒
