Here's the thing.
I've mentioned it before around here.
Due to life experiences and subsequent challenges, I've had to move (for a while) deep, deep into the suburbs.
There really isn't much material around here for any decent walks or photos.
I didn't realise how spoiled we are with landscape and incredible scenery in the Western Cape.
I'm in a totally different province run by a totally different political party (that I've actually voted for but, after seeing this in person, am about to cross the floor, sadly, far away from).
I now live (for a while) in Gqaberha (pronounced with a wonderfully loud click) in the Eastern Cape.
The whole province is unkempt and falling apart.
There is rubbish piled up in the bushes and trees on the side of the large, main road nearby.
Potholes on the main drag abound and have to be carefully avoided while you drive.
It's pretty eye-opening to see the lack of care and maintenance in the infrastructure of the region.
I even hit a pothole while trying to meet a date from Tinder this last Sunday and did around R11k worth of damage to a front wheel and rear bumper.
Mercifully we are insured.
And apparently this happens a lot around here.
Still determined to post, I took some bird's eye view of the foliage around here so that I could share something with the community.
Happily, I am making my way back to the Cape for a weekend and will take as many photos as I can so that I can create a bit more around here.

p.s. I still walk with headphones on, so that I can sing aloud and get my steps in, even though there is nowhere much to walk to around here and nothing much to see but neglect and slow decay.
I wonder what they do with all of that money...
