Alphabet Hunt: Six things that begin with D

One more week, we continue with the Alphabet Hunt from Bangla Hive, and this time we have to look for things that begin with the letter D. Each new letter makes me look at my photographs in a different way, trying to find little moments and things that have a story behind them.

These are my six words for this occasion.

1.Dog

This Dog is my adopted son. He was recently left in my care, and although at first he was simply an animal I had to take care of, little by little he has gotten used to me.

Now I feel that we have created a very beautiful bond. I like to think that, although our relationship began unexpectedly, little by little we have become company for each other.

2.Dinosaur

My main hobby is crochet, and some time ago I made this little Dinosaur. I loved how it turned out and decided to make it as a gift for a child.

One of the things I enjoy most about crochet is precisely being able to transform a little bit of yarn into something that can make another person happy. It may look like a small dinosaur, but behind it there is time, dedication, and a lot of love.

3.Dessert

Desserts are my weakness. Anything involving sugar seems simply wonderful to me, although I have to admit that my favorite, without a doubt, is flan.

I could find many reasons to choose a dessert, but when there is flan involved, for me the decision is already made.

4.Domino

Domino is a traditional game in many Latin American countries, and I have discovered that in each country it can be played with slightly different rules.

And not just because I am Cuban, but I have to say that in Cuba dominoes are much more than a game. They are part of the essence of being Cuban. It is easy to imagine an afternoon with friends or family around a table, accompanied by the tiles, conversations, and, of course, the occasional argument about a move.

5.Dishes

Dishes are objects that are part of our everyday lives and normally go unnoticed. We use them every day and rarely stop to really look at them.

But sometimes some of them can become true works of art and deserve to be admired. This photograph reminded me that even the most ordinary objects can have details capable of catching our attention when we stop to observe them.

6.Donuts

One of the few recipes I know how to make well is homemade Donuts. They are a simple sweet, but I really love them.

I do not need a very complicated recipe to enjoy something I like. Sometimes the simplest things are precisely the ones that end up giving us the most satisfaction, especially when we can say, “I made this myself.”

And that is the end of my collection of six words for the letter D. Once again, six completely different things that led me to talk about companionship, crafts, sweets, traditions, everyday objects, and little personal pleasures.

Now I invite edward777@edward777 once again to continue with this Alphabet Hunt and discover what their six words beginning with the letter D would be.

And what about you? What six words would you choose for the letter D?
