Me sentí interiormente satisfecha, viva y relajada.
"Worth gold, but it's free."
Good morning to all hivers.
Today I want to talk to you about how important art is and how it can help us distract ourselves and feel more at peace, even in the midst of scarcity.
I live in Cuba, and many of you know about the basic things we lack daily. These days, with the start of the school year just around the corner, those shortages become more noticeable, and so does the stress. But I decided that couldn't be the center of my life, much less my daughter's. That's why I have her enrolled in several socio-cultural projects where she dances, sings, and interacts with other children her age.
Yesterday, she, along with other children and workshop groups, put on magnificent performances at the José White Concert Hall in the city of Matanzas. There I witnessed the high quality of the children, the young people, and the teachers. I felt deeply satisfied inside, alive, and completely relaxed. During those hours, I forgot all about material things. And I saw many people leaving that place with visibly renewed energy.
That's why I say: these moments are worth their weight in gold and cost absolutely nothing. Sometimes, to unwind with friends, a big chunk of my monthly budget gets spent—and I do it without guilt because I know I need it. But always, always, I prefer a good play, dance, or music as the ultimate cultivators of the soul.
I invite you to share your experiences with me: do you enjoy appreciating art as much as I do?
