When the Bicycle Became a Shadow
A couple arrived on an electric bicycle, and as soon as I noticed them, something else caught my attention: the shadow of the bicycle on the pavement. The sunlight was strong enough to draw its shape clearly on the ground, turning an ordinary arrival into an unexpected photographic moment.
Una pareja llegó en una bicicleta eléctrica y, apenas me fijé en ellos, algo más llamó mi atención: la sombra de la bicicleta sobre el pavimento. La luz del sol era lo bastante intensa como para dibujar claramente su forma en el suelo, convirtiendo una llegada cotidiana en un momento fotográfico inesperado.
I liked the way the shadow showed the bicycle from a different perspective. The wheels, the frame and the people were all there, but reduced to simple shapes on the pavement. Sometimes we do not have to look very far to find an interesting photograph; we only need to notice what the light is doing.
Me gustó la manera en que la sombra mostraba la bicicleta desde una perspectiva diferente. Las ruedas, el cuadro y las personas estaban allí, pero convertidos en simples formas sobre el pavimento. A veces no tenemos que buscar demasiado para encontrar una fotografía interesante; solo necesitamos prestar atención a lo que está haciendo la luz.
They probably did not even notice that their arrival had left such an interesting image on the ground. For me, that was the nicest part of the moment: something completely normal became worth photographing simply because I happened to be looking in the right direction.
