There are images that catch our attention without needing to be spectacular. They do not always show famous landscapes, impressive buildings, or extraordinary moments. Sometimes what makes a photograph special is a small detail that awakens something inside us: a ray of sunlight entering through a window, an empty chair waiting for someone, a path surrounded by trees, a cup of coffee resting on a table, or a simple object that seems to carry a story.
I have always believed that looking is different from observing. Looking is something we do almost automatically, but observing requires stopping for a moment and allowing ourselves to connect with what is in front of us. An image can become a door to memories, ideas, and emotions when we give ourselves the opportunity to see beyond what appears at first sight.

A veces lo que hace especial a una fotografía es un pequeño detalle que despierta algo dentro de nosotros: un rayo de luz entrando por una ventana, una silla vacía esperando a alguien, un camino rodeado de árboles, una taza de café descansando sobre una mesa o un objeto sencillo que parece guardar una historia.
Siempre he creído que mirar es diferente a observar. Mirar es algo que hacemos casi automáticamente, pero observar requiere detenernos un momento y permitirnos conectar con aquello que tenemos delante. I want this space to be a place where an image is not only appreciated for its beauty, but also for the feelings and thoughts it can inspire. A photograph does not always need to explain everything. Sometimes the most interesting part is the story that our imagination begins to create.
When we see an old door, we can wonder how many people have passed through it. When we see a quiet street, we can imagine the lives that continue behind those windows. When we see nature growing freely, we can remember that life has its own rhythm and that every process needs time. Each image can hold many interpretations because every person sees the world through their own experiences.

Quiero que este espacio sea un lugar donde una imagen no solo sea apreciada por su belleza, sino también por los sentimientos y pensamientos que puede despertar. Cuando vemos una puerta antigua podemos preguntarnos cuántas personas han pasado por ella. Cuando observamos una calle tranquila podemos imaginar las vidas que continúan detrás de esas ventanas. Cuando vemos la naturaleza creciendo libremente podemos recordar que la vida tiene su propio ritmo y que cada proceso necesita tiempo. Cada imagen puede tener muchas interpretaciones porque cada persona observa el mundo desde sus propias experiencias.
I think we live surrounded by images, but sometimes we forget to truly appreciate them. We scroll quickly through photographs, searching for the next thing, without giving ourselves the chance to enjoy a single moment. Perhaps that is one of the beautiful things about photography: it invites us to slow down.
A simple image can remind us of feelings that we sometimes leave behind because of our busy routines. A warm room can make us think about home. A flower can remind us about patience. A road can awaken our desire to discover new places. A book on a table can make us imagine the stories that have been read and the dreams that have been born between its pages.
For me, discovering through images is also a way of discovering ourselves. What attracts our attention often says something about what we value, what we miss, or what we are looking for at a certain moment in our lives.

With this first chapter, I want to invite you to look at the world with a little more curiosity. Maybe the next time you see a photograph, instead of only asking yourself if it is beautiful, you can ask what it makes you feel. What story does it tell? What memories does it awaken? What thoughts appear when you spend a few seconds looking at it?
This will be my small corner to share images that inspire reflections and emotions. Not because they are perfect, but because they have something that makes us stop and think. Sometimes beauty is not found in the most extraordinary things, but in the way we choose to see the ordinary.
Every image hides a possibility. A possibility of remembering, imagining, learning, or simply enjoying a quiet moment. And perhaps that is the magic of discovering with our eyes: finding stories where others only see pictures.
