I was at this traditional style restaurant this Monday with my wife while it was raining outside and I had stopped my bike until the rain had stopped. This style of having food sitting on a mattress made of straw and a table in the middle is of Newari ethnic group of people. The design of this also reflects ancient Newari architecture.
I was little bit soaked in the rain so I decided to order coffee for myself in order to keep me warm.
Here comes their traditional dish known as "Samayabaji" in their native language. The food is served in plate from the leaves of Shorea robusta trees. It contains beaten rice, pickle, potatoes curry, bara(fritters made from lentils), peanut, soyabean, Tama ko tarkari(curry made from fermented bamboo shoots, black eyed peas and potatoes) and a spicy chicken meat.
I have recently been loving this dish made of Chicken Gizzard. The above is the fried and spicy chicken Gizzard meat.
My wife orders chicken chowmein(spaghetti) for herself. Among all the foods ordered, this one was the tastiest one.
