Hello, how are you? When I was young, ube flavor or ube in general was not my type of food, but as I grew up experience alot of food, not bad.. and it is good for digestion because of its fiber, my mom always buys one and boils it, and just peels the skin and is ready to eat.

One time, my mom came home with donuts because I think she bought or someone gave them to her, and I took a bite, wow, ube is good actually hahaha. Mind you, as a kid, I always ate halo halo and never realised ube is one of the main ingredients LOL.

So I am going to make a donut clay keychain in ube flavor.

Materials I Used:

  • Polymer Clay
  • Glass Sheet
  • Weighing Scale
  • Brush
  • Gum Container Lid
  • Tree Brush Tool
  • Needle Tool
  • Soft Pastels
  • Makeup Brush
  • Eyepin
  • Liquid Clay
  • Palette Knife
  • Silicone Mat
  • Oven
  • UV Resin
  • UV Lamp
  • Disposable Gloves
  • Mask
  • Keychain
  • Pliers

Craft Time!

To condition the clay, I knead it using my hands, and when it is soft enough, I am going to weigh it. This part is optional.

Then I shape it into a ball.

And then I place the ball clay onto the gum container lid and use the tip of the brush to make a hole in the middle of the clay.

And then to add texture, I use the tree brush tool and then the needle tool.

12.JPG

13.JPG

To add shades, I use soft pastels and then brush, starting with a light color and then layering it more darkly.

14.JPG

15.JPG

And then I added the eyepin.

16.JPG

17.JPG

To make the ube glazing, I mix liquid clay and soft pastel using a palette knife.

18.JPG

19.JPG

Use the palette knife to apply the mixture.

20.JPG

22.JPG

I should dry the first glazing because I did add the lighter glazing earlier, because it flattened onto the first glaze LOL.

24.JPG

And then I bake it on pre heated oven and then set the timer and temperature as instructed on the packaging. After baking, I let the clay cool down first.

25.JPG

26.JPG

And then I am going to apply resin onto the clay.

27.JPG

28.JPG

And then apply it using a brush. Make sure to wear disposable gloves and a mask.

29.JPG

30.JPG

Then cure it under a UV Lamp for a few minutes.

31.JPG

32.JPG

To add the keychain, I inserted the jump ring along with it.

33.JPG

Then lock it using two pliers.
