Everything seemed to suggest it would be a peaceful day, an ordinary day, a calm and happy day. I got up early; making the most of the electricity, I started cooking and doing the washing, because, thank God, we now have water in the building. Ever since my husband and I got married over three months ago, we’ve been without water in the building. All the male neighbours got to work and, thank God, sorted out the problem.

Todo parecía indicar que sería un día tranquilo, un día ordinario, un día calmado y feliz. Me levanté temprano, aprovechando la electricidad me puse a cocinar y también a lavar, porque gracias a Dios ya tenemos agua en el edificio. Desde que mi esposo y yo nos casamos hace más de tres meses, hemos estado sin agua en el edificio. Todos los vecinos hombres se pusieron a trabajar y solucionaron el problema gracias a Dios.
I made some delicious peas for lunch. I love stews – whether they’re made with beans or lentils, I like them all. My husband didn’t like them before we got married, but as the saying goes, ‘a woman makes a man’, so now my husband gets excited when I make him a stew.
It was quite a gruelling morning, because I had a huge pile of washing to do. My husband had gone to work and I was home on my own. I put some music on and was trying to work as quickly as possible so that I’d have time to finish the wash in the washing machine, whilst the power was still on.

My husband arrived just after midday; I served him lunch and he was telling me how his day at work had gone. Then, my husband asked me to bring him some water, but I’d only just given him a glass of water, so I thought it was very strange. To which he replied: ‘You’re just not very observant.’ On top of the bed was a wrapped envelope. I opened it bit by bit and when I saw what was inside, I was so moved that I let out a huge cry of joy.
It was our wedding album. My husband’s brother had given us the gift of having the album printed in Switzerland, and it had already been delivered to us. My husband gave me a lovely surprise, and we were both very happy because now we have a beautiful keepsake to share with our loved ones. Soon we want to take the album to my parents and our brothers and sisters in the church so that they too can rejoice with us.
Mi esposo llegó pasado el medio día, le serví el almuerzo y me estaba contando cómo le fue en el trabajo. Entonces, mi esposo me pidió que le trajera agua, pero ya yo le había acabado de dar un vaso de agua, por lo cual me pareció muy raro. A lo que él me responde: "es que no eres más observadora". Se trataba de nuestro álbum de la boda. El hermano de mi esposo nos hizo el regalo de imprimirnos el álbum en Suiza y ya nos lo habían traído. Mi esposo me dió una sorpresa muy linda y ambos estábamos muy contentos porque ahora tenemos un hermoso recuerdo para compartir con nuestros seres queridos. Próximamente queremos llevarle el álbum a mis padres y a los hermanos de la iglesia para que también se regocijen con nosotros.
In the afternoon we got ready and went to church, because, as I’d already mentioned in a previous post, we’re currently holding Youth Week at our local church. Today we had a Bible study at a neighbouring church. We’ll be studying the Book of Ezra throughout the week and taking part in Bible quizzes. We’re all very excited about it and giving it our all.
The weather is changing and it’s getting a bit colder; what’s more, the days are constantly cloudy and rainy. So we set off well-prepared with an umbrella, a coat and our hearts full of joy at being able to meet with our brothers and sisters to study the Word of God. I hope you enjoyed the post. Por la tarde nos alistamos y fuimos para la iglesia, porque como ya les había contado en un post anterior en nuestra iglesia local estamos celebrando la Semana de los Jóvenes. Este día tuvimos un estudio bíblico en una iglesia vecina. Estaremos estudiando el libro de Esdras durante toda la semana y haciendo competencias bíblicas. Todos estamos muy emocionados al respecto y dando nuestro mayor esfuerzo.
El clima está cambiando y está haciendo un poco más de frío, además los días están siempre nublados y lluviosos. Por tanto salimos preparados con sombrilla, abrigo y el corazón lleno de alegría por poder reunirnos con nuestros hermanos a estudiar la Palabra de Dios. Espero que les haya gustado el post.
