Hello everyone, how are you doing today? Hope you are having a great time. This will be Week 224 Edition 02 of our Weekly Featured Content.
Made With Canva
So, last Saturday we had our hangout as usual, and it was just so much fun that we did not want it to end. We are currently on the second topic for this week, which is “GET OFFENSIVE”.
But before we proceed with the details of the topic, let us take a look at the winners of the last topic, which was “YOUR FACE ALONE”.
This topic was geared toward each member of the community, telling us their thoughts on the idea of appearing in a random stranger’s pictures or video. Everyone has the right to make videos or take pictures in public, and from time to time, they might end up capturing other people as well.
But then, we got to see that as long as it’s done in a public place, it’s allowed, and it doesn’t matter if people appear in the video. Such a rule criminalizing such acts will only end up making the creative process harder for those who wish to create. This was an enlightening topic, indeed.
For this topic, we went through every entry post, and that is every post with the #hl-exclusive & #hl-w224e1 tag. And with the number of wonderful posts out there, it was quite difficult to make a selection. But eventually, we did just that. And so, the posts that will be featured not just for their exceptional content, but also for their level of engagement with other authors, will be listed below.
PRIVACY VS PUBLIC PHOTOGRAPHY: WHERE SHOULD WE DRAW THE LINE? by @vickoly
For this author, he doesn’t agree that such pictures should be criminalized. As long as the picture is not taken intentionally and the person is not the sole focus of the shot, then it’s good and fine. Anything else, and the creator is opening himself up for a suit.
THE PERFECT PICTURE by @terganftp
*For this author, he told us that when it comes to taking pictures in public places, a lot goes into it. And it requires a bit of common sense, placing oneself in the shoes of the people who appear in the image and using that as a yardstick to determine if the image indeed would be shared online or not.”
I DON’T MIND AS I’M NOT THE MAIN FOCUS by @intishar
This author told us that he wouldn’t mind at all if he found out that he was in the frame of some stranger’s picture. As long as he’s not the main focus of the picture, he would have nothing to complain about. But then, if that’s not the case, then he’ll most likely sue them because that’s a gross breach of his privacy.
All of the above contents were supported by our official curation account lazy-panda with an extra amount. The first 3 authors will receive 100 ECENCY Points [ Sponsored By Ecency Team (
@melinda010100) ] and 1 $PANDAMINER each as a reward next Monday. These posts were selected because of their special attention to detail and how they followed the topic. There were a lot of good ones out there, but we just could not pick them all.
But then, we have some honorable mentions listed below:
YOUR FACE, THEIR CAMERA: WHERE SHOULD THE LAW DRAW THE LINE? by @nhaji01
WHEN YOUR FACE BECOMES SOMEONE ELSE’S CONTENT by @nkemakonam89
PRIVACY VS PUBLIC RECORDING: WHERE SHOULD THE LAW DRAW THE LINE? by @van.illa
These are posts that were also found to be quite exceptional.
GET OFFENSIVE
“In the world today, it's so easy to offend someone. Saying or doing something without first thinking it through can be seen as highly offensive. But then, this can be really limiting. Because it can make people choose not to air their opinions because they're scared of coming across as offensive. Is this new style slowly taking our voices from us? Is there a better way to handle this?”
