  • Good afternoon friends, welcome back to my blog... My father was always the main protagonist in the kitchen, although my mother also liked to cook, but she prepared simple and less elaborate dishes. I remember that my father wrote down all the recipes in a notebook, some were improvised and others he modified, something he loved was to transform the recipes, he gave his personal touch trying to create a different dish, sometimes the improvisation was not tasty and he had to respect the original process haha! I keep his recipe notebook, what I enjoy most is to see the annotations at the bottom of the page, the leaves stained with some sauce reminds me of the passion my father felt for cooking. I make this preamble because among the foods that my father most enjoyed preparing was Arabic food, the first time I tried it I was not very convinced, as some of his dishes have a very intense flavor, but over time Arabic food became one of my favorites.

  • Whenever I visit a food fair and there is the option of eating Arabic, it is undoubtedly the one I will choose, although sushi is in the same order of preference. Today, I share with you my experience in the Habibis restaurant located in Margarita, I hope it serves as a reference for people who live on the island or for those who are spending a fun vacation like me.

  • This restaurant has its own private parking lot, the tables are outdoors, its decoration is simple but very nice, it has beautiful lamps with stained glass and arabesques, on the ceiling and around the tables there is a vine to which they put small lights, this detail makes you feel in a very cozy atmosphere. The kitchen is separated by a bar, I loved that if you want you can approach and watch how they prepare the food. They have a great variety on the menu, I have had the opportunity to try several dishes, but the shawarmas are my favorite. Something I really enjoyed is that they use a radish pickle for the filling, the contrast of this flavor with the acid touch is really spectacular!

  • In this restaurant there is always a promotion that is excellent and is the one we take advantage of every time we go, it consists of 2 shawarmas, with a garlic sauce and a sesame sauce for 5 dollars, it seems to me a very supportive price, taking into account the relationship of quality and quantity of the filling, as they are very generous when filling, you can enjoy the abundance of ingredients from the first bite to the last bite. On this occasion, we ordered the mixed stuffing, which consisted of grilled chicken, beef strips, lettuce, tomato, red onion and the delicious touch of pickled radishes. Whenever I order meat I am always afraid that its texture will be tough, in this place they use very good quality meat, as its consistency is very soft. My culinary experience was really unforgettable... A real delicacy!
