When I went shopping, I stopped by the farm market. There were very colourful pumpkins and squashes outside of the market. In Canada, people celebrate Thanksgiving in October. Halloween is also in October, so the farm market has beautiful vegetables.
There was a pumpkin patch outside of the market. I loved the wood chips on the path. My husband said he wants to make this trail on our property for his break time exercise.
The white pumpkins are $8 each. I think the price of pumpkins went up a little bit compared to the last few years.
There were yellow, white, green, and orange pumpkins and squashes on the patch. There are very interesting, unique shapes of pumpkins as well.
Oh, this pumpkin looked like a Frankenstein. It's good for making a Frankenstein lantern with it. My husband said that there were a few types of pumpkins when he was little on Halloween that he remembers. He was surprised that there were many different shapes of pumpkins nowadays.
I remember that we couldn't find any big orange pumpkins for our Halloween lessons in Japan way before. However, people grow, sell and buy orange pumpkins these days in Japan as well, I guess.
I love to see this image in my area. There are many cool-looking old containers for shipping apples, vegetables, and more like this. It's such a cool image of farming. Vegetables are so important in our lives, so I appreciate their hard work every year.

買い物に出たついでに農場マーケットに立ち寄りました。色とりどりのかぼちゃやスクワッシュが店の外に飾ってありました。カナダの感謝祭は１０月です。ハロウィンも１０月にあるので、今の時期は農場マーケットにはきれいな野菜が並びます。
パンプキンパッチが外にありました。道に敷き詰めてある木のチップがいいですね。主人が休憩中の運動用に作った敷地内のトレールに、こんなふうにチップを敷き詰めたいと言っていました。
白いかぼちゃはひとつ８ドルです。ここ数年でかぼちゃの値段が上がったように感じます。
黄色、白、緑、オレンジのかぼちゃやスクワッシュが並んでいました。とてもユニークでおもしろい形のかぼちゃもありました。
このかぼちゃはフランケンシュタインのようです。フランケンシュタインのランタンを作るのに良さそうですね。主人の小さな頃のハロウィンでは、こんなにたくさんの色や形のかぼちゃがなかったように思うと言っていました。近頃の種類の多さに驚いている様子でした。
昔、日本でハロウィンレッスン用にオレンジのかぼちゃが欲しくて探した時は、なかなか見つからなかったのを思い出しました。近頃は日本でもオレンジ色も主流になりつつあり、育てたり、売ったりかったりする様子が増えてきているように思います。
この辺りではよく見かけるこの光景が好きです。かっこいい古い木製のコンテナに詰められた出荷用のりんご、野菜などがこんなふうに農家に積み上げられています。野菜は私たちの暮らしに欠かせない大事なものなので、毎年とても感謝しています。
