I am now on my 9th day of the 30-Day Blogging Challenge by @tegoshei.
The topic is 'What's in My Bag or Wallet?'. I chose my bag for my wallet has nothing to offer. What a sad reality!
The quarantine here in Cebu City started in March. I haven't gone outside carrying a bag since in front of our apartment is Gaisano (mini-mall). When I do the grocery, I only have my purse and phone. With this topic, I decided to show you what's in my bag before the pandemic. I had reviewed from November 2019 until March 13, 2020. Our board exam schedule was on April 1-2, 2020 and it was postponed.
I had placed my things on a mega box and because of this challenge, I took them out. It was nice seeing them again. It makes me reminisce about my struggles, physically, mentally, and emotionally. I haven't told some of my friends why I am here in Cebu. I just told them that I'll be working here, which is true by now. And, it feels like ages if I share what's in my bag when I was still working in Iligan City. It's been ages.
Back to the topic, I also include the bag I use when I go out. I'm a backpack and sling bag type of girl, though, I always used a backpack because of the things I always bring. My friends would tease me like it seems I brought our house with me. They even said that I look like a Ninja Turtle.
I had been using my Trafalgar Law Backpack but he's too old and can't keep up with the things I stored in him. So, my boyfriend gave me his Jansport backpack.
Anyway, let's check what's in my bag.
Backpack
1.Inhaler
I would never go out without my inhaler. I'm asthmatic and my mother kept on telling me when I was still a grade-schooler that it's my lifeline. But there were times that I forgot my two inhalers and I had a DIY inhaler. I just need a pen or straw and the capsule. Still, I need to bring this with me all the time.
2 Study Materials
My class was in the morning from Mondays to Fridays. When the board exam was fast approaching, my class schedule changed. The only schedule left was the evening class. I didn't like studying in the review center, so I went to the public library to study there. I always brought my study materials with me such as:
- Books and Handouts: It depends on what I plan to study.
- Calculators
- Notebooks and scratch papers
- Index cards
- Pens and pencils
- Highlighter
- Sticky notes
- Puncher and Stapler
3 Earphones, Phone, and Charger
I don't usually bring my earphones, but during the review period, I've come to realize how important it was! My concentration is great when I'm reading manga or novel, doing art, and even watching TV series that I like. But when it comes to studying, I easily get distracted. Just a small noise irritates me so much. I had this encounter in the library when the two people in front of me were chit-chatting. The Brave Song was in a loop when I'm studying but I changed it, at that time, to One Ok Rock songs in full volume.
4 Coin purses, Pouches, Keys, ID and Cards
As I mentioned, my wallet is boring so when I go out, I only had my two coin purse with me given by my best friend (bear prints) and my mother (navy blue). I separate the coins and the bills. I only used my big wallet when there is a blessing in my ATM. It usually happened during payday in my previous work.
Then, I place my IDs and cards in a ziplock and put the ziplock on one of the pouches. The pouches are for my inhalers, keys, charger, and earphones, and the rest is for my study materials.
5 Tissue, Dental Floss, Mouthwash, and Mirror
I don't use handkerchiefs, so I use a tissue instead. Whenever I eat in a fast-food chain, I always get a handful of tissue. Dental floss and mouthwash are a must after eating. When I was still working in a university, I also brought a toothbrush and toothpaste since we have a sink in the office.
6 Powder, Liptint/Lipstick and Hair Tie
I seldom use lipstick. But, lip tint is life. I am anemic and I look pale when I don't apply any of the two. I use powder when I feel like my face is ready to deep-fry a chicken. For the hair tie, I don't tie my hair when wet. So, I always bring it with me, not just one but two.
7 Umbrella
This umbrella was given by my best friend from Texas. I wasn't planning to use it since I always lost my umbrella. I had lost two of my Sword Art Online umbrella. I'm afraid that I might lose this one and the umbrella's print is a Marauder Map! However, I can't afford to get sick during the review period.
I forgot to include my tumbler in the picture, but I always bring this one because I am a camel. I also bring 6 candies and two biscuits. Before the review period, instead of study materials, I always brought with me my Bullet Journal, a book to read and clothes. After work, I went to the gym.
But there are times that I am using my medium-sized red sling bag, like if I want to go out but I need to bring with me my index cards or books.
1 Inhaler
2 Calculator
3 Pen and Pencil
4 Phone and charger
5 Wallet, ID, Keys, and Cards
6 Index Cards
7 Tissue
8 Book
For my small sling bag, I only use this when I have to buy something.
1 Inhaler
2 Calculator
3 Pen
4 Wallet, ID, Keys, and Cards
5 Tissue
Before I took the review, I always brought my calculator and book with me. Even when I'm traveling, I have them all the time. I can also go down to the inhaler, wallet, a few tissues I took from the fast-food chain, one ID, and keys.
Can you imagine how bulky and heavy my bag was? At 6:30, I logged out in the library and walked to the jeepney stop in Guadalupe for about 20 minutes. Even before, it felt so odd not using my backpack with only a few things stock in it.
