As much as I'm a big advocate of living a very happy life always, no matter the tough and sad situations life throws at someone, I have also come to understand that in life, there will definitely be tough and sad moments in one's life, and it is very natural to ease into the situation for a while and find a way out. What do I mean?
When someone dear to us dies, one may want to force happiness into the mind so as to get rid of the sad thoughts in the person's life, but that's not how it's supposed to be. At that moment, the body system should be allowed to adapt to nature, which is the emotion of sadness due to the loss of a dear one. The person is permitted to cry; the person is permitted to shed those tears. But, in the long run, the person is expected to pick up the broken pieces, fix themselves, and move on with life...and that's the part I feel one has to force and find happiness to move on with life.
How do I find happiness during hard times?
Like I mentioned, whenever a tough moment comes, I usually allow nature to take its course for a while, and I find means to catch up with life after a short while. The following are the means with which I find happiness:
There's always a breakthrough at the end:
Whatever the situation may be, I tell myself to see the end from that moment of pain, and with that, I cheer up because very soon, the struggle will be over. This mindset helps me to dust myself off, fill my mind with positivity, and go on to face life again.
I have seen where families mourn the death of their loved ones and at some point, it may seem like they're not going to get out of that pain but after a couple of months, they'll bounce back to living like nothing happened. That's just how life is, the pain may be much, the struggle may be tough but there's always light at the end of the tunnel.
Have people around:
Gone are the days when I used to discard the idea of relating with people during tough days. Having people around who cheer me up is a real killer of sad moments. Whenever a tough situation knocks, I usually find means to relate with people who love and care about me.
