Seven months ago,my friends and I were sitting together after classes.It was one of those long talks that students always have.We were discussing social issues in our country and then somehow we ended up on the topic that scares all of us the most.Our future.
We looked at what is happening around us.Unemployment is increasing day by day.Every news page,every senior we meet,everyone has the same story.No jobs,too much competition.And we thought if the situation is like this now, then what will it be like after a few years when we graduate? It felt hopeless for a minute.
But then one of us said something that stuck. “We cannot depend on luck." That line changed the whole conversation.We decided right there that we will not just wait.We will find online work along with our studies.Even if it is small,even if we do not know how to start,we will try.
A few days later I got to know that my cousin was already doing content writing online.I called him immediately.He told me to come to his city and he would show me everything.So I went.
When I reached his place,he welcomed me and opened his laptop. "This is Ecency," he said.At first I thought it would be very easy.Post something and money will come.But reality hit fast.We spent hours just creating the account because of errors.Then came the hardest part.Writing my introduction post.
I was not creative at that time.My English was weak and I did not have a group to practice with.I felt stuck.But my cousin kept pushing me. "Just start," he said. "You will learn by doing." So I did.I posted my intro and started reading other people’s work.
Slowly I made a plan for myself.Long term work on Ecency.Daily engagement.Join contests.Learn,grow and if possible,invest later.I also told my friends about it and they joined too.Now we support each other.
It has not been smooth.I am still an undergraduate student and my degree is my first priority.There were days when I lost motivation and became inconsistent.Study pressure,lack of confidence,all of it got in the way.
So I sat down and made a routine.Now I give three hours every single day to Ecency.No matter what.
My main goal right now is to increase my Hive Power.I have set a target of 1500 HP by the end of this year.For that I am participating in contests,engaging with people and posting regularly. He has also taught me a few things about tokens, but suggestion is to grow HP first. So, I am also thinking about tokens. Moreover, if it turns out well, I will be doing some investment as well.
In the end, it started with four usual students talking about a bad job market. Now it is me and my laptop. Although, I find it hard to manage everything with my internship, but plan is to stay as long as it exists.
I do not know exactly where I will be next year. But I know one thing for sure. I am not waiting for opportunities anymore. I am creating them. Growth is slow, but it is happening. And that feels a lot better than sitting and worrying.
