My fourth year on Hive was a bit of finding myself. I started out strong on this journey in 2017/2018, I was saving and planning for Steemfest 4. I was super gung-ho when I came back, and then the split happened followed by pandemics and lockdowns. I started feeling a little meh by the time my 3rd anniversary on the blockchain came around, I didn't even care to mark it.

This is what I was doing when 02/12/2020 rolled around. I was reading stories from the public domain along with short stories I had written, as well as reviews of the stories on YT and shared them on Hive. Nothing spectacular, but it gave me something to do without thinking too hard.

Then I started reading up and listening to plans around 3Speak. Before that, I felt I had nothing to contribute to the platform as it championed free speech, and all my content was super-safe. But the more I read, the more I wanted to be part of it and of course, I have always respected TheyCallMeDan and I believe he is a genuine dude. I also noticed not all content creators on 3Speak was controversial.

I saw writing challenges on the short fiction community TheInkWell. I tried it and loved the feedback I got from the moderators. I loved the tips and tricks they shared, and pointers on how to make one's writing better. There was great support from fellow writers and a lot of talent and creative stories that I enjoyed reading.

I took part for the first time, just to be part of the community that supported Hive and I do appreciate @TraciYork who is constantly doing her part to keep the fire going.

Boom! It was Hive's birthday. A whole year had come to pass since the split and the communities were thriving and I was already enjoying being part of them.

Bestie-K reads tarot. One visit, she whipped out her cards and invited me to ask a question. I asked about Hive if I should continue to spend all my energy on Hive. Let's say, is was the most positive reading I've ever had, and the answer was a big resounding YES!

Coming out of that tarot reading, I answered the call to action to declare my love for Hive and to share it on Twitter.

And when Hive started pumping some, I was super stoked and it wasn't even where it has been in recent times.

Somewhere along the way, I was invited by silversaver888@silversaver888 to be part of her team of moderators for the LadiesOfHive community. I said yes.

And of course one of my faves dreemsteem@dreemsteem is back on the block and creating a buzz with her DreemPort.

If anything, it is the communities that keep things interesting and fun. All one needs to do is find the one they can click with and I have found a few; #MarketFriday to #WednesdayWalk, #HiveBookClub to #SilverBloggers, #FoodiesBeeHive to #NeedleworkMonday to #TheInkWell to #DTube and more.

I have also made more friends so now I don't miss those who were a big part of my initial journey but not so active anymore. The last few months I got over the meh and back to fun on Hive without realising it. And the recent pumps and all the hype with new developments and airdrops sure adds to the mix.

So Happy Birthday me indeed and let's see where the next year on the Hive takes me and all of us.
