Tudor Vladimirescu was born in 1780 and was an emblematic figure for the history of Wallachia at the beginning of the 19th century, being the leader of the Revolution of 1821 and the leader of the pandours.
He made a fortune by buying lands, doing trades on his own. He was emancipated from the service of Glogoveanu, entering the ranks of armed pandas with semi-permanent duties, and participated in the Russian-Turkish war of 1806-1812. He was rewarded by Russian officials with the order of cavalry, the Order of St. Vladimir.
Knowing the German language, Tudor Vladimirescu was able to follow the political issues that were being discussed in the press in the capital of the Austrian Empire. He signed an agreement with the Defense Committee that Tudor would fight against the Phanariot regime.
The too revolutionary content of the documents sent by him scared the landowners trying to stop him. Entering in Bucharest at the head of the "people gathering", he is enthusiastically received by the masses. He actually took over in the spring of 1821, the country's leadership, being called by the people "Lord Tudor".
Alexandru Ipsilanti's presence in Bucharest at the head of an undisciplined army, put him in a difficult situation. Tudor asks leader of the Greek secret society to cross the Danube, as he had originally promised, so that Wallachia would not be transformed into a theater of war.
The leaders of the Greek secret society had a conspiracy to kill him. Tudor was killed by the Greek secret society leaders in Târgovişte on the night of 27 to 28 May, accused of collaborating with the Ottomans against their secret society.
His tragic, novelized destiny, of course, became a source of inspiration for artists and directors who made long artistic movies.
