This October has turned out to be the most complicated month for me of all this year, it has been a month of a lot of hustle and bustle and also of some bad moments. In the first days I had a lot of things in mind, but in the end, I didn't manage to do almost nothing of what I proposed to do. One example is this bracelet that I'm bringing today as a tutorial. I had intended to submit it to the Pink Month community contest initiative, but I didn't have time to do it by the deadline.

The month of October is not over yet and the theme of the initiative is very sensitive, as it aims to help raise awareness about breast cancer. This disease affects many women and is one of the main causes of female mortality. It is therefore necessary that we know all its aspects, symptoms and how to detect it in time. This is an emotional topic for me, so I didn't want to miss it. Although I could not present myself for the initiative, I still want to share my work inspired by the Pink Month.

The pink colour that identifies this campaign is a symbol of femininity, delicacy and solidarity, that's why I chose these colours. I made my bracelet with two shades of pink combined with white as a complement between the two shades, to create a balance between the two colours. I used the macramé technique by making simple knots to the right and left in a horizontal design.

Materials used

-Pink and white acrylic crochet thread
-Scissors
-Knitting needle
-Wooden board with a loop as a tool to hold the threads.

Steps

I used a total of 13 strands of thread of 80 cm each, divided into three sets, four dark pink, four white and five light pink. I combined the colours leaving the white colour in the middle.

-Leaving a space of 10 cm to be able to make the clasp of the bracelet I start weaving from left to right with the first thread (dark pink) making a knot oriented to the right. When I reach the last thread I take the first thread of the central set (white) and with the dark pink thread I make a knot to the right and then to the left, so that the pink thread remains on the same line.

- I continue weaving knots to the right with the white thread in the centre until I reach the first thread of the light pink set. I repeat the previous step, now with the white thread I knot it over the pink one to the right and the other to the left so that the white remains in its position.

-Finally, with the first strand of light pink thread (last set), I tie four knots, all facing to the right. At the end of the last knot I start again the steps in the row below.

These steps are done repeatedly until the desired size is achieved, leaving an equal space of 10 cm of unknitted yarn to make the final closure.

As my pulse is in support of Pink Month I added a small pink ribbon as an embellishment. To do this, I crocheted a looped chain chain with a crochet needle and attached it to the centre of the pulse along with two small rose buttons on either side, and sealed both ends with a knot.

Although it took me longer than usual, I'm glad I did it. I confess that pink is not one of my favourite colours, but I really liked this combination because it looks so refreshing and delicate.

This was a great initiative with an important goal, and although late, I am glad I did it.

Este mes de octubre ha resultado ser para mí el mes más complicado de todos los de este año, ha sido un mes de mucho ajetreo y también de algunos malos momentos. En los primeros días tenía muchas cosas en mente, pero al final, no he logrado hacer casi nada de lo que me propuse. Un ejemplo es esta pulsera que traigo hoy a modo de tutorial. Tenía la intención de presentarla en la iniciativa del concurso del Mes Rosa de la comunidad, pero no tuve tiempo de hacerlo en el plazo propuesto.

El mes de octubre aún no acaba y el tema de la iniciativa es muy sensible, ya que busca ayudar a tomar conciencia sobre el cáncer de mama. Esta enfermedad afecta a muchas mujeres y es una de las principales causas de mortalidad femenina. Por ello es necesario que conozcamos todos sus aspectos, síntomas y cómo detectarla a tiempo. Este es un tema emotivo para mí por eso no quise pasarlo por alto. Aunque no pude presentarme para la iniciativa de igual forma quiero compartir mi trabajo inspirado en el Mes Rosa.

El color rosado que identifica esta campaña es símbolo de feminidad, delicadeza y solidaridad, por eso fueron los colores que escogí. Mi pulsera la realicé con dos tonos de rosado combinados con color blanco como complemento entre las dos tonalidades, y así crear un equilibrio entre ambos colores. Utilice la técnica de macramé realizando nudos simples hacia derecha e izquierda en un diseño horizontal.

Materiales utilizados

-Hilo acrílico para tejido crochet en color rosa y blanco
-Tijeras
-Aguja de tejer
-Tabla de madera con presilla como herramienta para sujetar los hilos.

Pasos

-Utilicé un total de 13 hebras de hilo de 80 cm cada una, divididas en tres conjuntos, cuatro de color rosado oscuro, cuatro blancas y cinco de color rosa claro. Combiné los colores dejando el color blanco en el medio.

-Dejando un espacio de 10 cm para poder hacer el cierre de la pulsera comienzo a tejer de izquierda a derecha con el primer hilo (rosa oscuro) haciendo un nudo orientado a la derecha. Al llegar al último hilo tomo el primer hilo del conjunto central (blanco) y con el hilo rosado oscuro hago un nudo hacia la derecha y luego hacia la izquierda, para que la hebra de color rosa quede en su misma línea.

-Continúo tejiendo nudos hacia la derecha con el hilo blanco del centro hasta llegar al primer hilo del conjunto rosa claro. Repito el paso anterior ahora con la hebra de hilo blanco lo anudo sobre el rosado uno hacia la derecha y otro hacia la izquierda para que el blanco quede en su posición.

-Por último, con la primera hebra de hilo rosa claro (último conjunto), hago cuatro nudos orientados todos a la derecha. Al terminar el último nudo comienzo nuevamente los pasos en la fila de abajo.

Estos pasos se realizan repetidamente hasta lograr el tamaño que se desee, dejando un espacio igual de 10 cm de hilo sin tejer para hacer el cierre final.

Como mi pulso es en apoyo al Mes Rosa le añadir como adorno un pequeño lazo rosado. Para hacerlo tejí con una aguja para crochet una cadeneta a la que di forma de lazo y la pegué en el centro del pulso junto con dos pequeños botones de rosas a cada lado, y sellé ambos extremos con un nudo.

Aunque me tomó más tiempo del habitual, me alegra haberlo hecho. Confieso que el color rosa no es de mis preferidos, pero esta combinación me gustó mucho porque luce muy refrescante y delicada.

Esta fue una gran iniciativa con un importante objetivo, y aunque tarde, estoy contenta de haberla realizado.
