Splinterlands is a complex game, and it allows for various cards and strategies. Each fight is different as there are various rulesets applied, and this can give specific cards an advantage depending on how you use them. In this post, I talk about a battle where I won because I focused my damage on one target.
Rule Set, Battle, and Plan
The rulesets this time are No Man's Land. This means that human cards can't be used. There is also 27 mana available, and I can use any splinter.

The focus of this lineup is to keep my monsters alive while dealing damage and outlasting my opponent. My archon is Barthalamas for the +1 speed. My tank is Frankarsgard and bloodlust. My backup tank is Chaos Furybringer with reach. Following that is A'lan Musketeer as my damage dealer with double strike.
Round 1
At first glance, I think that this match can go either way, but I have a slight advantage due to the damage advantage. I can still lose if my melee monsters can't survive long enough.
Round 3
A few rounds later, my opponent is left with 1 monster but I still have 2. I will win unless I miss too many attacks.
I won later that round.
Conclusion
The battle did not go exactly as I planned, but I did win because I focused my damage on one target. My opponent had Saltwater Mage, and that damage to my backline was ultimately what made him lose. I was so close to losing, and all my opponent needed was 1 more damage on my last melee monster. So having my monsters focus down damage gave me this win.
