Splinterlands is a complex game, and it allows for various cards and strategies. Each fight is different as there are various rulesets applied, and this can give specific cards an advantage depending on how you use them. In this post, I talk about a battle where I did won because I had a better strategy.
Rule Set, Battle, and Plan
The rulesets this time are Fates Certainty and Equalized Armor. This means that all monsters start off with the same armor, and all abilities that have a chance work always. There is also 34 mana available, and I can use fire, water, or life splinter.
| Splinter | Mana Cost | Position | Reason |
|---|---|---|---|
| Marlai Singariel | 6 | Summoner | +1 magic |
| Halfling Refugee | 1 | 1st | |
| Thanalorian Scion | 5 | 2nd | Void Armor |
| Torrent Sniper | 7 | 3rd | Snipe |
| Daigendark Surveyor | 2 | 4th | Magic Reflect |
| Daarg Deadblast | 7 | 5th | Weapons Training and Swiftness |
| Grimbardun Smith | 6 | 6th | Immunity |
| Total Mana: | 34 |
The focus of this lineup is to keep my monsters alive while dealing damage and outlasting my opponent. My archon is Marlai Singariel for the +1 magic damage. My tank is Halfling Refugee, and my backup tank is Thanalorian Scion. After that are my magic monsters and support monsters. My support monsters gain magic damage due to Daarg's weapons training.
Round 1
At first glance, I think that this match is my win. My magic damage just overpowers my opponent, and I see no way for my opponent to overcome this with his spread-out damage.
Round 5
A few rounds later, my opponent has 2 monsters, but my side is still all alive. There is nothing my opponent can do anymore.
I won later that round.
Conclusion
I won the match because my strategy worked out. The magic monsters buffed by my archon made quick work of my opponent. My opponent had to deal with the massive armor on my side due to Scion and couldn't deal any effective damage. This led to an easy win on my end.

What did you think of my match? Was there anything you would have done differently? I think it is quite interesting to see how different players use the same card.
