Before the battles, before the monsters became familiar faces and before players started building teams around different abilities, there was a world with its own history, mysteries and conflicts. This is something I find particularly interesting about Splinterlands. Most of the attention naturally goes towards battles, cards, rewards and strategies, but there is another side of the game that deserves attention: the fictional universe that connects everything together.

I have started looking at Splinterlands from a slightly different perspective. Rather than seeing it only as a card game, I want to explore it as a world with its own identity, history and mythology. Every creature, kingdom, element and character seems to belong to something bigger. It makes me wonder what the world looked like before the conflicts and battles that players experience today.

One of the most interesting things about exploring a fictional universe is understanding how everything came to exist. Why are there different Splinters? What separates their identities? How did their inhabitants develop their unique characteristics? These questions make the background of Splinterlands just as interesting as the actual gameplay.

The different Splinters are particularly fascinating because they represent more than different groups of cards. They introduce different environments, creatures, personalities and powers. Each has its own atmosphere, making the universe feel much larger than a collection of individual characters.

I also think the creatures deserve more attention from a storytelling perspective. When looking at some of the monsters in the game, it is interesting to imagine where they came from, what their lives might have been like and how they became part of their respective worlds. Some look like ancient beings that have existed for centuries, while others appear to belong to completely different environments.

Another thing worth exploring is the relationship between the different forces in this universe. Are they natural enemies? Do they have shared histories? Have some of them existed alongside one another peacefully before disagreements and conflicts emerged? These are the kinds of questions that make fictional history enjoyable to explore.

Of course, not every interesting question has an established answer in the official lore. That is part of what makes this exploration exciting. There is room to distinguish between what the game actually tells us and what we can imagine based on its characters, settings and descriptions.

I would also love to understand how the world developed over time. Were there ancient civilizations? Did certain creatures once hold positions of power? Were there significant events that changed the balance between the different Splinters? Exploring these possibilities could reveal an entirely different side of a game that many people primarily associate with card battles.

For me, this is what makes the Splinterlands universe worth exploring. A game can be entertaining because of its mechanics, but its fictional world can give players another reason to remain interested. There is something fascinating about discovering that the characters and creatures we encounter during battles might have much deeper stories behind them.

I want this account to become a place where I explore those stories, investigate interesting details and look beyond the familiar aspects of Splinterlands. There are histories to discover, creatures to understand, mysteries to examine and plenty of interesting connections to explore.

The battles might be what bring players into Splinterlands, but the world behind those battles is what I want to discover.
