The wonderful thing about Wednesday Walk is that it gets me thinking about where I want to go, what experience I want to capture, and what story I would like to share via pictures. How can I delight the eyes of a reader with a unique view of the world, as seen only by me and my camera (erm… phone) at that time and place?
If you aren’t yet doing Wednesday Walk, I hope that inspires you. This project is hosted by @tattoodjay, and he collaborates with

For this Wednesday Walk post I will take you through some trees on a winter day that is just beginning to consider the possibility of spring. Notice how the light is stronger and warmer than that of a day in the deepest part of winter.
On this particular day, my husband and I took our dog walking at our favorite local park. I enjoyed filtering the sun by placing myself where it would be interrupted by the birch trees.
I’ve probably photographed the trees in that grove from near and far 100 times, and they never cease to capture my attention.
At some point I tried to grab a picture of my husband with backlighting and failed… but he ended up with a sort of halo. Who doesn’t want a halo?
It was at this point that we ran into a good friend. She was also there with her dog. She captured this picture of me and my husband.
Our dogs started playing tug-of-war with a stick, which gave us humans a chance to talk for a little while before going our separate ways. But for a few minutes, at least, it seemed like all was right with the world.
Thank you for visiting!
