As an emotional being, I tend to get attached to people easily especially if I often see them daily. The past few months has been a roller coaster at work- audit season, month end closing of financial books, candy what not. But things were bearable for me because I had a friend who I know I can always rely on. In some ways, she is my mentor. I was able to eat out most nights on weekdays because we would often rant about work and life. We shared secrets to each other too, something I don't share with just anyone.

During some of our conversations, she already expressed how tired and pressured she is- I truly believe her. My friend's position is a Senior accountant. The responsibilities of this position is quite huge as she's the one who makes financial disclosure to a publicly listed company. To maintain the position would entail hours of overtime, even on holidays and weekends. Sometimes it's still not enough. She'd give up sleep just to finish her given task.

So if she said she's tired and is considering to resign, I believe her. And support her for that matter. As her friend, I know she deserves better.

However, this saddens me because a better life for her means leaving the company and I won't be seeing her that much anymore. I'm saying "not much" because I know we'll still see each other since her house is just across our office. Still, it would feel different.

To this one friend of mine, I sincerely hope you'll find what you're looking for- in your career, life, and relationships. You deserve better.

Wherever life would take you, know that I am here cheering for you- always.

That's it for today's blog. See you in my next one!

Sending some love and light

With love, Jane
