A state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.
Growing up as a kid I wasn't healthy if this definition by the W H O is the standard definition of what it means to be a healthy person.
Why was I unhealthy.
I had ANGER issues and every little thing pissed me off. I can't eat food in one plate as a family as it's in our culture to dish food for kids in one big plate mostly on occasion or as a way to unite in instill that brotherly love . Other kids do enjoy this but I will war against everyone the spoon 🥄 and fork 🍴 on my hands are my instruments of war. Countless times did I hurt my elder brother with the fork.
Being unable to control your temper is no less of an illness than being anxious or depressed, and it deserves every bit as much sympathy.
– John Crawford
I can count myself a very privilege person because I had the blessings of my grandparents from both sides i.e I saw the parents of my father and mother. They were nice people who hated my anger lifestyle because it was much that people suggested mental check for me but truly I didn't see anything good in what others do. I didn't make friends I only thought of staying alone in the bush talking to no one.
Back in 1997, my maternal grandmother visited and passed the night with us and the next morning she and my paternal grandma sat me down and said to me anger isn't good if you don't change you will die. I felt very hurt and tears rolled over my face. But did that mean much?
The next day after my meeting with my grandparents I went to school and a boy tore my book and I didn't report to my teacher but decided to soak the child's school big in water but my teacher knowing what I was capable of doing said to my anger kills but you can challenge your anger to a positive strength. I was still young I didn't understand much.
My mom is always ashamed of my life as I would always bring troubles and the troubles were things I could obviously tolerate people keep telling my mom you didn't train your child he lack manners but are right? No not at all because my parent has us 10 . Six male and four female all alive as at the time of writing. I was just different and difficult. This didn't stop until I became a nursery school teacher in 2005 September.
Anger is an acid that can do more harm to the vessel in which it is stored than to anything on which it is poured.
~Mark Twain .
While in Teacher's College, I read articles on anger and I remembered my professor saying that anger hurts you more than the person or thing of which you're annoyed with.
Now I applied in a school as a classroom teacher and I was employed and I had learned in my psychology class and in classroom management that one of the qualities of a good teacher is his ability to control his temper.
How will I handle these little hands, almost first timers in school should I pour anger on them and such a child dies or I sustains serious wounds coming from my careless act and anger then I will rout in jail and for the first time in my life I felt emotional.
I truly loved the teaching profession and I wanted to be a good teacher and anger won't stop me and I couldn't do it by any known formula and went back to God in prayer and I made a covenant with myself to have serious headache each time I want to get angry and immediately this prayer was honored and anger instead of taking it negatively I see it as a motivation to the best part of me.
There are some ugly situations which you must get angry at and work extra to move out of such situations. Anger is a vehicle for change that's why the bible say be angry and sin not meaning take it in it's affirmative. This is 17 years in teaching I never got into troubles because I out anger manhandled a child. Today in my village people make reference with my case . And I am a healthy man because there's a balance in my emotions and other wise. Though my grandparents didn't live to see this transformation but they should be where ever they seeing I'm a changed person.
