Greetings, Foodies Bee Hive community. In this post, I will describe how we prepare at home very tasty chow mein. To begin with chow mein, as we all know that it is a Chinese dish made from stir-fried noodles with vegetables and sometimes meat or tofu. Over the centuries, variations of chow mein were developed in many regions of China; there are several methods of frying the noodles and a range of toppings can be used.
For preparing this I used following ingredients:
To begin with the process, firstly I took a container and filled it with water, add salt and very little oil. After that add chow in it. I cooked only 80%, and then turned the flame off. After that drain the water immediately. I spread it in a plate to avoid overcooking.
Now moving further, turn on the flame, heat a pan and add oil. When the oil is heated add green chilli - 1, garlic cloves - 2 and onion - 1 small. First add garlic and green chilli on a medium high flame, cook a little bit after that add onions and cook it for 4-5 seconds on a high flame. Then add carrot, cabbage, white portion of spring onions (optional). I also added some mushrooms and cottage cheese. U can add or remove Veggies accordingly. Cook it for 1 or 2 mins on a high flame. I added capcicum at last because I don't wanted to cook it for a longer time. Cook it for 8-10 seconds on high flame.
After that add 1 tbsp vinegar, 2 tbsp soy sauce, add 1 big tbsp of red chilli sauce, add 1 tbsp of tomato ketchup and 1 tbsp of green chilli sauce. Turn the gas flame high and mix it well. After that i added boiled chow or noodles. Add salt and after that add black pepper powder 1/2 tsp. By adding black pepper powder it gives a wonderful flavour. After that mix it or toss it for a minute on high flame with the help of spatula and folk. For making this chow mein it will only take upto 10-15 mins. U can also add spring onions (optional) at last and toss it. But I have garnished it with cottage cheese.
This was the final result, I hope u like it!
See u next time!
