Hello everyone and all members of Cinnamons Cup Coffee Community, how are you guys today? May we all always be given health and happiness in living everything we are doing. This time, I want to share a fun experience about coffee and holidays.
I really like to drink a cup of coffee, I have done this habit since I was little when I stole my grandfather's cup of coffee. It continued when I was in college, but at that time I drank coffee sachets which had a sweet taste and thick cream. I could drink 4-5 coffee sachets when I was in college. Whether it's because of this coffee sachet or because of my poor diet, I suffer from stomach ulcers until now. Even though I have an ulcer, I can't help but drink coffee. Because of that, I always bring my coffee maker with me to be able to brew coffee anywhere when I'm away from home. Like when I was on vacation this time.
Coffee and Holidays
Some time ago, I went on a few days vacation with my family. We went to enjoy the fresh air and beautiful natural scenery. At that time, we visited Torsibohi Park and stayed in one of the villas there.
Even though I'm on vacation, I never leave my coffee drinking activity, which I always do. That's why I always carry a coffee maker with me so I can brew coffee anywhere. Some of the tools that I often carry include the V60 Dripper, digital scale, kattle, portable stove, and of course coffee, which I have grinded this time, so that I don't bother grinding coffee.
I arrived at this place in the afternoon, and was greeted with thick fog and heavy rain. My brain and my heart immediately thought, it looks like a warm cup of coffee will make me enjoy this moment more. No need to wait long, I took out all my coffee brewing equipment.
The first thing I did, was boil the water. I will brew coffee using the V60 method, for that I need water with a temperature of 85-90 C. I take water from the faucet in the Villa, the water is very cold and according to the workers at this villa, said their water source uses water from the original mountains. Water quality can determine the taste of a cup of coffee. I once participated in a coffee brewing competition, and each participant brought bottled water from various brands that they believed produced the best taste for the coffee they were brewing.
After the water has boiled, we will immediately brew coffee. I use a 1:15 ratio, meaning if I use 30 grams of coffee, I have to brew it with 450 ml of hot water. Brewing with the V60 method will provide a cleaner and more balanced coffee taste. In addition, there is a feeling of happiness when the steeping we do slowly drips down the coffee pot. The aroma of the brewed coffee is also very strong, the wind blows making the aroma of this coffee spread everywhere.
Slowly but surely, I have finished my brew. The first thing I did, of course, was to smell the coffee while stirring slowly. One of the pleasures of coffee is the moment when we feel the aroma of coffee directly with our nose. High quality Arabica coffee will have a distinctive and strong aroma. Some people who can not drink coffee, will still be able to feel the aroma of this delicious coffee.
I once read in one of the literatures, drinking coffee properly will improve mood and make us happier. As I experienced this time, I got a lot of things that made me happy at that time. Vacations, beautiful views, rainy weather (by the way, I really like the rainy atmosphere) and of course a cup of quality coffee makes my happiness hormones increase.
However, never consume coffee in excess especially with the aim of reducing anxiety or eliminating depression. I've experienced it, instead of getting rid of depression but making me even more anxious and more depressed. So, consume coffee at the right moment, the right coffee and of course at the right feeling.
