I’m going to start with a simple post to get back into this whole blogging thing and talk more about coffee.
May there always be coffee for those of us who love those afternoons with friends, sharing a cup with our grandparents or the neighbor, and chatting about anything and everything.
Although today one of the most talked-about topics is the situation in Venezuela, there’s a sense of less concern because so much aid has come in, and we have great faith that everything will turn out well—and that many of us have shifted our perspective a bit.
But, well, the truth is that I wanted to share with you that a few weeks before everything happened, it was my birthday, and I feel very grateful for all the good things that have come into my life—and even more so because there are people who pay attention to the smallest details and have learned to see who I am, what I’m like, and how I am. So, that’s how two coworkers managed to surprise me with a very thoughtful gift—one I’ll never forget—and I’ve been wanting to share this story here for a long time.
Well, there were two of us celebrating birthdays this month, and, funnily enough, we’re both people who like to drink coffee. A coworker has really noticed that I always—even if it’s just once a month—like to go somewhere to buy a Nescafé or a cup of coffee from a machine that uses that brand, because so far, she considers it one of the tastiest (until one day I try a different one).
Another thing is that another coworker sells cakes, and I’m a regular customer who usually orders the pineapple cake—not because it’s my absolute favorite, but because it brings back memories of my childhood.
Now that I’ve explained all that, I think you can imagine how happy I was to see this little surprise, and I truly enjoyed the lovely opportunity to savor one of my favorite coffees on a very pleasant afternoon—it wasn’t too hot, and we had a nice view (I forgot to take a picture).
I feel like this is one of life’s greatest pleasures—or maybe I’m just getting old; honestly, I don’t know. All I know is that now, whenever we plan to get together, we make sure there’s at least some coffee so we can chat more comfortably and with more energy.
Well, that’s all for today. See you in my next post, which will be filled with the aroma of coffee.
