A Weekend in the Orient
The Venezuelan Oriente is one of the most incredible regions of our country, in this immense space of land we find beautiful beaches, extraordinary nature and an ideal environment for vacationing, there are also numerous towns and cities, which with the warmth and joy of its people welcome every year thousands of domestic and foreign tourists. My aunt Josefina several years ago bought a small house in a town called Clarines, located in the north of the state of Anzoátegui, on the Troncal 9 highway or the Gran Mariscal de Ayacucho Highway, it is a small town that dates back to colonial times, but today is characterized as a growing city, where agricultural production, tourism and trade are the economic engines of the population.

The city of Clarines combines a series of very interesting economic, social and cultural factors, its central hull stands out for its stone streets, the great Plaza Bolivar and the Iconic white Church of San Antonio de Padua, which by effects of the climate and the lime that covers its walls from time to time is dyed with a strong black color, around it there are large colonial type mansions, where taking pictures is almost obligatory. But there is also another face of this town, the same is located several streets beyond the center, spaces where my aunt's house is located and where we can see how there are very nice and modern houses, while others are raised in a more humble and traditional way, these are different realities but they exist and should be visible, as undoubtedly also part of this travel experience, where I managed to enjoy beautiful landscapes, lots of culture and an unparalleled experience.
But traveling to the east and not going to the beach is like visiting Paris and not seeing the Eiffel Tower, the Venezuelan Caribbean in that area gives us turquoise waters, white sands and a beautiful landscape, that is why I convinced my aunt to take a trip of just over an hour and a half to know the Isleta, an almost virgin island located about 15 minutes by boat from the city of Puerto Píritu, this is a true paradise, a spacious and cool place, where we can find some awnings with chairs and in front of us we will have a wide, warm and amazing sea, for this trip we brought everything we needed to eat and drink, the boatman would pick us up at the end of the afternoon, so it would be a day to live the beach experience to the fullest, so we both swam until exhaustion, we laughed and had fun like never before, being there was the best decision of this trip.
Also in the vicinity of Clarines there is another very famous beach is the resort town of Puerto Pítritu, which is a very large ocean coast, which from east to west gives us miles of brown sand, water quality and excellent tourist services, which suit all tastes, We chose this destination the next day to continue our dose of beach, being on land we had the advantage of being able to return home earlier and thus be able to arrange the bags for our trip back home, but still we arrived at the coast around 07:00 am and returned to Clarines: We arrived back in Clarines at 03:00pm, which gave us a full day of relaxation and recreation, which allowed us to relax to the fullest.
The next day we had to clean the house, arrange all our suitcases and put everything in order to leave, so we got up early and began to clean a little the land, grease the windows and take note of everything that was needed to improve the conditions of the property, as this is a property that needs a lot of attention, I am sure that in the future my aunt will be giving her house the necessary touches that will allow her to have a space that perfectly fulfills the needs of a summer house.
Another thing that caught my attention of all this area that I had the opportunity to see was the extraordinary shape of the trees, which are huge, lush and have a centennial air, I would dare to say that many of them have seen several generations pass and are faithful witnesses of the changes that the city of Clarines has lived. After arriving on Friday afternoon and enjoying three days in a row, Tuesday morning dawned and with some nostalgia, but with the satisfaction of having lived some extraordinary days I had to say goodbye to this magical region, but I left with the certainty that I will return on many other occasions and I will be able to discover the wonders hidden in the east of my beautiful country.
