Saludos querida comunidad, feliz #needleworkmonday, hace unos días compartí con ustedes una comisión que me hicieron de un amigurumi de Cristo Rey, al compartirlo por mis redes sociales me contactó una cliente y me pidió que le hiciera un San Antonio, pues el 13 de junio se celebra en el día de este santo y en mi ciudad son muchas las personas que están ligadas a ese tipo de actividades, que además de las actividades en las iglesias católicas también se hacen bailes y música en honor al santo, yo no soy creyente pero estoy consciente de la gran importancia cultural que tiene este día en mi ciudad y además me encantó la idea de retarme nuevamente en hacer un amigurumi de pequeño tamaño por eso puse todo mi corazón en este proyecto y el resultado me gustó mucho.
Greetings dear community, happy #needleworkmonday! A few days ago I shared with you a commission I received for an amigurumi of Christ the King. After sharing it on my social media, a client contacted me and asked me to make a Saint Anthony, since June 13th is the feast day of this saint, and in my city many people are involved in these kinds of activities. In addition to the activities in Catholic churches, there are also dances and music in honor of the saint. I'm not a believer, but I'm aware of the great cultural importance this day has in my city, and I also loved the idea of challenging myself again to make a small amigurumi. That's why I put my whole heart into this project, and I'm very happy with the result.
Proceso / Process
Al igual que el cristo con el san Antonio procedí de manera similar en cuanto respecta al cuerpo, trabajé con hilo acrílico y ganchillo de 1.25mm, comencé desde los pies con 3 cadenas de base, hice aumentos en las esquinas para obtener un ovalo de 12 puntadas, cambié a color piel hice dos hileras y luego disminuciones en las puntas para obtener la pierna de 8 putadas de ancho y 3 hileras de alto, uní ambas piernas por dos cadenas e hice 4 hileras de puntos bajos, aparte con hilo marrón hice la falda de 8 hileras de largo, uní al cuerpo e hice 4 hileras más, luego uní los brazos e hice las disminuciones para obtener el cuello de 12 puntadas.
Just like with the Christ figure and Saint Anthony, I proceeded similarly with regard to the body. I worked with acrylic yarn and a 1.25mm crochet hook. I started from the feet with 3 base chains, made increases at the corners to obtain an oval of 12 stitches, changed to skin color, made two rows and then decreases at the tips to obtain the leg 8 stitches wide and 3 rows high, joined both legs by two chains and made 4 rows of single crochet. Separately, with brown yarn, I made the skirt 8 rows long, joined it to the body and made 4 more rows, then joined the arms and made the decreases to obtain the neck of 12 stitches.
Para la cabeza hice 6 aumentos por hileras hasta obtener 36, hice 10 hileras y luego 6 disminuciones por hilera hasta cerrar, coloqué los ojos antes de cerrar, luego con hilo marrón desde el cuello hice una especie de canesú. Hice los detalles de la nariz, las orejas y las cejas, el cabello pareciera lo más fácil, pero me tomó varios intentos llegar a uno que me gustara, lo hice de diferentes medidas de circunferencia y varios tipos de mechones y de diversas longitudes, hasta que la mejor opción fue hacer 36 cadenas en círculo y luego hacer 36 mechones de 4 cadenas y 4 puntos deslizados en las hileras.
For the head, I increased 6 stitches per row until I had 36. I worked 10 rows and then decreased 6 stitches per row until I closed it. I attached the eyes before closing it, then with brown yarn, I made a sort of yoke starting from the neck. I added the details of the nose, ears, and eyebrows. The hair seemed like the easiest part, but it took me several tries to get one I liked. I made it with different circumference measurements and various types of strands and lengths, until the best option was to make 36 chains in a circle and then make 36 strands of 4 chains and 4 slip stitches in the rows.
Los detalles fueron mis favoritos, sobre todo el ramo de flores, a esta escala pensaba que no iba a lograr hacer unas flores tan pequeñas, pero sí pude, con blanco hice apenas 4 puntos bajos en un anillo, 4 puntos bajos y luego 1 puntos deslizados seguido por 3 cadenas para hacer los pétalos, el tallo lo hice con alambre floral delgado.
The details were my favorite, especially the bouquet of flowers. At this scale, I thought I wouldn't be able to make such small flowers, but I did. With white yarn, I made just 4 single crochet stitches in a ring, 4 single crochet stitches, and then 1 slip stitch followed by 3 chains to make the petals. I made the stem with thin floral wire.
El reto mas grande no era hacer el San Antonio sino hacer al Niño Jesús, porque en esa escala entonces tendría que hacerlo muy pequeño, por eso estoy muy orgullosa de haberlo logrado, teniendo solo 16 puntadas de ancho de cabeza y cuerpo, sus brazos los hice con 4 puntos bajos y 4 hileras, tuve que hacer todos los detalles del rostro como sus orejas, nariz y ojos mucho mas pequeños, pero me encantó.
The biggest challenge wasn't making Saint Anthony, but making the Baby Jesus, because at that scale I would have to make him very small. That's why I'm so proud to have achieved it, using only 16 stitches for the head and body. I made his arms with 4 single crochet stitches and 4 rows. I had to make all the details of his face, like his ears, nose, and eyes, much smaller, but I loved it.
