Masuria is commonly known as the Land of a Thousand Lakes. That's not true; there aren't 1,000 lakes in Masuria. There are about 2,600 of them.Mazurskie jeziora jak magnes przyciągają żeglarzy. The Masurian Lakes draw sailors like a magnet. Lake Śniardwy, the largest lake in Poland, is so vast that many call it the Masurian Sea. And Lake Mamry, the second-largest lake, is actually a complex of as many as six bodies of water, including Lakes Mamry, Święcajty, and Dargin.

It’s also worth remembering that the popular term “Masuria” also encompasses Warmia, the Suwałki Region, and Powiśle. Olsztyn, the largest city and capital of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, is located in Warmia. The border between Warmia and Masuria is irregular. Generally speaking, one can say that Warmia is located between the Vistula Lagoon and the Pasłęka River; it borders Masuria to the south and features a landscape of gentle hills and small lakes.Masuria, on the other hand, lies to the east and south of Warmia and is famous for its many large lakes (such as Śniardwy and Mamry). But aside from the great lakes, large resorts, and crowds of tourists,Masuria offers peace and quiet by its little-known but beautiful lakes
Today, my wife and I found another place like that. It’s an intimate resort popular only among nature photographers, especially bird photographers.I won't reveal the location—I value my peace and quiet 🙂
