Learning is a nonstop process. We start to learn from the time we came into this world, and we keep learning till the last breath of our life. We keep learning at almost every stage of our life, and naturally, some lessons we learn with our growth; as with our growth, we get a better understanding of life and the world. Every person’s life experience is different, and that’s why the lessons we learn are not the same. But sometimes it’s better to learn something through the life experience of others, which may help us live a better life. So, today I am going to share some lessons I learned through my growth.
I think most of the time we feel that all of the people around us are very important, and we are ready to sacrifice our time if it’s something that can help others, and sometimes we may suffer loss, which can exhaust us. I think one person should not drain his energy on others all the time for the sake of those important people. Because they will take your time for granted, and if you can’t deliver what they expect, they will not hesitate to blame you. When such a situation arrives, it feels very bad. It’s a feeling like all the time you invested in them was wasted. One doesn’t need to sacrifice their time for the sake of helping others. If it’s hard, then it’s better to refuse. Those people who care about us will understand it without giving any kind of blame.
Learn to know how to say “NO”; otherwise, one person is bound to suffer loss in life. I think that most of us don’t want to hurt others, and we are afraid of refusing just for the fact, but always saying yes means you are always available, and it gives the wrong impression about one person, and later it becomes the reason to face various kinds of difficulties in life. So, it’s very important, and I think one person should not compromise in this case.
“Try to spend some time with elderly people because everything about life can’t be found in Google.” – The statement is simple but meaningful. At present time people are obsessed with technological devices and try to figure out everything online, and they don’t have time to spend quality time with family. Elderly people have life experience and have seen the vast world. They can share their insight if anyone is curious to know about it. Their insight is so helpful to one person, which can help others to face difficulties in real life, and in such a case, even Google is not so helpful.
Whatever the situation, prioritizing myself is important. Being selfish first before trying to help others is my rule, and I think that It’s not something to feel bad. If I have a solid foundation, I can help more people, but for the sake of helping others, if I can’t make a solid foundation for myself, I will be the next one who will seek help from others. At least I should not be one of the short-sighted people who sacrifice things in the name of help and suffer later. It’s ok to be generous and kind, but before that, building a solid foundation is necessary.
