If I were me, but 16 in 2025
And I had all the dreams of being a professional actor that I did when I was 16,
There may be a couple of different paths I would follow.
I would practice writing sketch comedy and I would try to get my friends together to shoot sketches on our phones every weekend.
I would get involved in whatever regional children's theater that employed professional actors I could find. For me in Milwaukee would be first stage
I would look for the crazy out there dream opportunities that are only really available to young people. Things like internships at Saturday night live or auditions for a youth role off Broadway productions. I would only consider BFA programs from prestigious universities. Even if they cost more or were otherwise inconvenient
I would either move to the city that I bought would provide me the most work now or I would not expect to move from my home City. I e I would move at the age of 18 New York or Los Angeles or Atlanta expecting to try to get those professional auditions as a young person for I would stay in Milwaukee maybe move to Chicago restaurant personal family professional connections that I had already built up as a young person but I wasn't starting from scratch and a new city multiple times. And it would only move to New York or LA after I felt like I had job opportunities being offered to me
