We left DD and drove to BC midday yesterday to check the house and spend some time with Dad as well. But first, we picked up a load of gravel and sand, including some bags of cement, knowing we would be coming home late and the aggregates would be closed by then.
I didn't realize it had been over a month since our last visit until we got there. Grass and weeds have grown all over our little yard, almost choking the flowers and ornaments that I've planted in March.
Seeing me pulling some of the intruders, one of my brother's guys joked that it's been a long while since we came, so the weeds are taking over.😅 Haha! Our last visit was on the 15th of May, and the yard was clear!
"Well, the rain came, so things grow fast," he said further.
I was thankful, of course, that none of my plants died, and the yard is greener than ever. It just needs some mowing and a bit of tidying up.
Anyway, after spending the whole afternoon over chit-chat and such with Dad, we bade goodbye at half past six in the evening. The hubby remembered he needed to buy some farm stuff for the Lil Kingdom. It was already dark (7 pm) when we reached the kiosk in the valley where our caretaker was waiting. After giving him instructions, it was time to head home to DD.
"Oh sh*t!" the hubby blurted out while trying to shift gear. Thankfully, it went through after a few tries, but only in the second gear (segunda), painstakingly slow for the speed we were used to. Since it was a Sunday (and already past 7), no auto or repair shops were open. So we went on, keeping the hazard signal blinking.
"Why don't you try shifting to see if it goes through?" I suggested when we were halfway home. The hubby did, and bam! It worked! "Oh, see? I told ya!" I teased him, and we laughed out loud as we sped home. It was quite a funny experience, but it did remind us that it's time to have the clutch checked.
