We were to have a lazier Thursday...

But my cousin's wife called saying the delivery was arriving, so we drove out of DD before midday, left the car at a nephew's garage (the barricade at the entrance is still up), then walked about a quarter mile or a bit more along a concrete pathway, passing by vegetable fields, including rows of thriving potatoes (it was nice to see them healthy and robustly growing despite the month-long monsoon).

Anyway, when we reached the main street (highway), the hubby walked farther to get the truck from where we parked; we stayed by the waiting shed. Found a lovely painting on its wall, but stacks of crates covered almost half of it, so I stood on my toes to take this shot, lol! I would have moved to the other side, but a man owned the space.馃榿

A few minutes passed, and I sighted my nephew approaching from down the road. He said he had just visited his greenhouses nearby, and his lettuce seemed to be growing too slowly. He laughed when I teased him, saying veggies tend to do that, especially when wholesale prices are up.

The hubby arrived soon after, and it was time for us to leave for the other town. Crossing the border, we thought we'd stop by for a meal, but because it was difficult to find a parking spot in the heart of town, the hubby suggested we go down to the valley instead鈥攖he Balcony, that is.

The LilGuy settled comfortably in his chair as we perused the menu.

The hubby went for a sizzling dish鈥攇enerously glazed pork ribs in sesame seeds. My plate, on the other hand, was a roasted chicken with mixed veggies on the side (purposely for our lil boy). The dishes came with tasty soups.

Just when we thought we would have a quiet lunch, a group of youngsters came in, and one of them was very loud. He spoke as if his companions were so far from him that he had to shout. "Maybe he's a bit deaf," the hubby whispered. "That makes sense, unless he is really just loud," I agreed.

The LilGuy quietly enjoyed his veggies (the beans specifically), and we slowly nibbled on our portions. We also had Strawberry Frappes (not pictured), which thankfully didn't disappoint.

From there, we headed north to my cousin's place to pick up trays of seedlings delivered from Pampanga. We then drove to my FIL's place to drop them off for Mr. N and found out he has not started cleaning the farm for his next crop. Yikes!

It was almost evening (past 5 pm) when we took the road home, left the truck at the scrap site (thanks to the owner for offering a safe space), took the pathway to good ole car, and reached our driveway just before the sky turned really dark. Thankful to have made it through the day despite some inconveniences.
