Dimmer morning. The sky is completely covered by fog, with absolutely no shade of blue. Looks like we are having a gray Sunday.
The short yard visit had me taking snaps of the little things out there. Glory bush blooms drenched in rain droplets. Even the ant making its way through one of the petals got caught馃榿
Strangely, the macro shot gave me a different shade. Blue, or was it dark purple? Now I'm a bit confused, lol!
Another try and it came out okay, at least really close to the bloom's real colors.
I was trying to photograph the curling young leaves, not realizing a living creature was taking shelter in one of them, until I took a closer look. I couldn't really tell if it was an insect nymph or a mosquito. Could it be the one sucking out the sap from the plant leaves, hence the brown spots? Hmmm...
Anyway, I heard some people walking down the street, so I ducked, not wanting them to see me in an awkward position, lol! The shift did make me notice an interesting cluster of little beads under the bushes.
For a moment, I thought the blooming bush grew some weird buds. It turned out to be a climbing weed clinging to the stem. It's just amazing how they co-exist without killing or hurting each other.
Anyway, the passersby were gone, and it was time for me to get out from hiding and discover some more. And who would have thought something so scary was lurking nearby, just right beside me!
GL identified it as an orb-weaver spider, and no, it's not harmful at all. It is not dangerous to humans. In fact, its kind helps control garden pests. We do learn something new every day.
And look! An orchard spider too, quietly nestled on its own web. What a beautiful thing!
