Finally, I can tell you about my most favorite photo shoot from the competitions! Which, to my surprise, received an extraordinary number of negative reviews :D
For the third task in the das it was necessary to make beauty portraits with a cosmetic defect of the model. These could be skin or general diseases, unusual pigmentation and the like. Looking at the examples sent by the judges, I immediately had the idea of an image for which I chose frostbite / cold.
I decided that the face should be pale, frozen, cyanotic lips and slightly bluish eyelids, white eyelashes with a small layer of artificial snow, red frostbitten cheeks and nose. Against this background, I wanted to add lightweight Japanese motifs, inspired by the film "Memoirs of a Geisha". So I chose a hairstyle similar to one of the heroines when she was in the rain. The front strands of hair had to be as if wet and frozen. Unfortunately, the hairdresser could not make the desired effect of wet hair, and the make-up artist can not solve the problem with the snow on the eyelashes, so these elements were not what I wanted.
Especially my weakness is the color filters for flashes, so in this shot I did not give up on them. Thanks to it, an interesting warm effect was created, as if the model had frozen, and now it began to thaw. Previously, I did not mix warm and cold colors so pronounced, but it was in this case that I really liked the result.
What do you think is the place we took in this contest? Waking up from the excitement around 4-5 am, I started scrolling frantically through the album, but could not find my job. The third time I saw her and she was ... the first! I knew that we should occupy a rather high place, but did not expect the first, although the inner voice whispered to me all the time .. "this is Best ... this is Best" :D
And then the most interesting thing began. A lot of dissatisfied viewers hysterically commented: "what's the defect?", "It's thrash," "some rubella," "not on assignment .. it's convenient when you can say that it's not freckles, but something else," " for what is the first place ?? " and so on. After, when the whole series was laid out, it all got worse ... "The model is obviously drunk," "it's impossible to mix cold and warm tones," and there was even a detailed analysis where all those who were involved in creating the photos were subject to criticism. In the skirmishes, a judge was involved, who tried to protect the choice of his colleagues. Surprisingly, in subsequent assignments, when we occupied not so high places, we began to receive positive feedback, and Natasha even had fans.
The story of a onion
The onion was prepared in advance and brought to the photo session only in order to create the effect of tears. But, no matter how hard we tried, we could not squeeze out the tears from Natasha, because not long before she had spent time with a lot of onions and seems to have developed immunity to him)) But, when I saw how it aesthetically holds the onion, I could not resist and took a few pictures. One of which became my favorite in the series!
