I decided to watch Frozen because I was looking for a survival movie, and this one really made me feel uncomfortable in a good way. It was a simple story, but the situation the characters found themselves in was terrifying.
The movie followed three friends, Dan Walker (Kevin Zegers), Joe Lynch (Shawn Ashmore), and *Parker O'Neil" (Emma Bell), who went skiing together. Everything was going well until they made a terrible mistake.
They managed to convince the ski lift operator to let them go up one more time before the resort closed. But while they were still on the chairlift, the workers mistakenly shut everything down and left the mountain. The three friends were suddenly trapped high above the ground with no way to get down.
At first, they believed someone would notice that they were missing and come back for them. But as time passed, they realised that nobody knew they were still on the mountain.
The cold quickly became their biggest enemy. They had no food, no proper clothing for such a long wait, and nowhere to get warm. They tried to think of different ways to escape, but every option came with serious danger.
What made the movie interesting was that it did not depend on too many characters or complicated scenes. Most of the movie happened on that chairlift, yet the tension kept increasing. I could almost feel the cold and the desperation as they watched the hours pass.
The three friends also started arguing because fear and exhaustion were affecting them. Their friendship was tested as they struggled to decide what to do next. Some of their decisions were painful to watch, especially when they realised that staying where they were could be just as dangerous as trying to escape.
One thing I liked about Frozen was how realistic the situation felt. There was no superhero coming to save them. They had to depend on themselves, and every decision had consequences.
Kevin Zegers, Shawn Ashmore and Emma Bell did a good job portraying people who were scared, desperate and slowly losing hope. Their performances made the situation feel more personal.
The movie was also disturbing because the danger was not only the freezing weather. There were other dangers waiting below them, which made the possibility of climbing down even more frightening.
Overall, Frozen was a tense survival movie that showed how quickly a normal day could turn into a fight for life. It was not a movie filled with constant action, but the fear came from wondering what would happen to the three friends as the night became colder.
If you enjoy survival movies where ordinary people are trapped in an extreme situation, Frozen was definitely worth watching.
