As usual, this is part of the monthly artzine project I worked on with my friends last month, with the theme: “Artificial.”
Both-Side.
2 POV about BOT/AI.
Humans have created a system of support tools called Artificial Intelligence, which we commonly refer to as BOTs or AI. Its purpose is to simplify and speed up work processes, while also helping users find references or simply brainstorm ideas. With just a prompt, people can access and run this artificial intelligence system (BOT/AI).
But… these days, especially in this era where everything is so rushed—even though I don’t even know what we’re chasing after. From my perspective, these bots and AIs are getting more and more ridiculous. Because, with artificial intelligence (AI)—which is already in its umpteenth version in this day and age—people are becoming increasingly lazy when it comes to being creative with their own imagination; they just want instant results.
On the other hand, these bots and AI systems can also be very dangerous. They’re like a double-edged sword, because these bots and AI systems can unknowingly steal highly sensitive personal data from their users. This is especially true given the current trend of AI-based photo editing, which makes our photos look good and appealing at first glance—all with just a single prompt.
Actually, the results from regular photos are still better. Yeah… sure, some of the features offered by these bots/AI systems are accessible for free, but… without us even realizing it. We’ve paid for those features by trading—or giving—access to all our highly private personal data to these bots/AI systems, just to keep up with a standard or out of fear of missing out on the silly trends that are going viral.
Not only that… with just a single prompt, bots and AI are also often used to generate visual works or to remake those visual works from their original versions. And then there’s what I think is the absolute worst: stealing the hard-earned work of others by generating it anew. But… the results are predictable, overly formulaic, generic, and brutally flawed.

From my POV, these bots and AIs actually have their good sides—like simply helping out or making it easier to find references and brainstorm when your brain is completely stuck.
But… on the other hand, there are also many negative impacts caused by this AI. For example, just look at what’s happening around us.
People have become lazy about creating things using their own imagination; they just want instant results—whether it’s a work of art or anything else.
The Earth is getting hotter because of a water shortage. That’s because this BOT/AI requires a huge amount of clean water to cool all the servers inside it.
Not to mention the issue of data theft from its users, and the hot topic these days—Meta using artists’ original works as test subjects to train their AI systems. Ugh, this AI is really annoying... and poop shit!!
