Hey, Homiie, what’s up... I’m Humansleep. This time, I want to share my work with the Alien Art Hive community. Here, I’ll also be sharing the creative process—including both the final images and the sketches—for the pieces I’ll be working on.
This piece I created is part of a monthly artzine with the theme “consumerism,” which I worked on with my friends last September.
GREEDY CHEST
A Monster Disguised As A Treasure Chest.
Greedy Chest: It tells the story of an ancient mythological creature from the dark, overgrown swamps. It takes the form of a treasure chest to deceive its prey. It has only one purpose for camouflaging itself: so that it can devour all wealth—and even any rights—that do not belong to it.
Some of the forest’s inhabitants refer to this creature as a hypnotic monster, because before it takes everything that belongs to its prey, it first hypnotizes and influences the prey’s thoughts before it begins to eat it.
That creature has always been the greatest terror for all the creatures—the inhabitants of the forest. And some of those forest dwellers had also heard a story told directly by their ancestors about a strange mythological creature hidden deep within a distant, dark forest: Greedy Chest, the hypnotic creature.

Honestly, the topic of consumerism is incredibly broad—it can cover just about anything… and branch out in all directions. And, to be honest, I was actually a bit confused about what to do with this topic. Hehehe… but from that confusion, I indirectly came up with an idea—even though it’s a bit absurd… It starts with a treasure chest, then a monster, and there’s a bit of sarcasm tucked in there. Hahaha.
