After defeating Sojutsuki, Akito and KK plunged into the Abyss for Chapter 6: Binding. Guided by underwater hospital corridors, family memories, and childhood spirits, Akito journeyed through nostalgic scenes of his past and school days in a quiet quest to reach Mari.
With Sojutsuki down, KK temporarily separated to eliminate his duplicate body, which had been serving as a host. Rereleasing the bond, KK signaled that it was time to dive into the Abyss after the giant anomaly.
They leaped from Tokyo Tower, using a wire line to bridge the distance toward the giant, officially completing Chapter 5 and transitioning into Chapter 6: Binding.
Akito drifted down into the depths, touching down inside a cavernous space filled with submerged structures.
Navigating through the underwater environment, I approached an interactive door and pushed inside, emerging into what appeared to be a flooded hospital.
Eerie, calm echoes of past conversations drifted through the halls. I encountered a spirit projecting its memories, though I couldn't directly interact with it.
Further down the corridor, another spirit waited anxiously outside a room, reliving the moment he learned his wife had given birth to a baby girl.
Opening the next door shifted the landscape entirely, transitioning us straight into a residential apartment. Stepping into a child's bedroom, familiar voices mentioned Mari's name, confirming this was Akito and Mari's childhood home.
Descending the stairs, I discovered three distinct spirits gathered in the living area, re-enacting a memory of Akito's mother and father speaking with Mari.
Passing through another doorway brought us back out onto the quiet city streets, surrounded by peaceful ambient memory echoes.
Up ahead, the spirits of several young children crossed the road toward a local playground, heading in the direction of the elementary school Akito used to attend.
Realizing we were retracing the steps of Akito's early memories, I walked up to the school gate entrance and opened the door to see where the path would lead next.
