Heading toward the Morai Shrine Torii gate to clear the fog, I fought off Rain Walkers and used a Tengu to reach the rooftops. After absorbing spirits, I glided across buildings, dropped down to Shibuya Station, defeated headless student of pains, and returned to the iconic intersection under atmospheric rain.
I set my sights on the uncleansed Torii gate at Morai Shrine, knowing I needed to purify it to finally push back the surrounding fog blocking the area. As I started making my way over, I spotted a few Rain Walkers patrolling the path.
I tried to creep up for a stealthy takedown, but they caught sight of me at the last second and attacked. I immediately fought back with my magic, dropping them quickly before continuing my push toward the shrine.
Spotting a Tengu hovering near a tall building, I grappled up to the rooftop to get a better vantage point.
Looking across the skyline, I noticed a corrupted roof structure that needed cleansing. Instead of jumping all the way over first, I drew my bow and cleansed it from a distance with an arrow, then glided over to absorb the freed spirits left behind.
Traversing across the city using my gliding ability felt super smooth, but I misjudged a leap and ended up dropping back down to street level. I landed at a quiet four-way intersection that seemed completely abandoned at first.
Exploring a bit further, I caught sight of a small group of Visitors nearby, a Paper Doll paired with another Rain Walker.
I prioritized the Paper Doll first to prevent any annoying disruptions, then blasted the Rain Walker using my elemental weaves, tearing through their cores without taking much damage.
Right after the fight, a heavy rain began to fall across the city. The rain effects in this game look absolutely incredible, with the wet pavement reflecting all the bright neon signs and making Shibuya look super atmospheric.
I pushed forward until I reached Shibuya Station, where a pack of students of pain spotted me and tried to jump me. They definitely didn't stand a chance against my upgraded magic, and I wiped them out in seconds.
It felt really nostalgic returning to such a familiar location after spending so much time exploring the outer districts. And I noticed more headless female students of pain.
It was actually pretty funny watching them because they were striking poses and acting like they were taking photos of each other, even though they literally don't have heads!.
Then I walked right into the intersection where the whole story originally started. Seeing the eerie video broadcast of Hannya still playing on the giant advertising screens was a super cool callback, reminding me just how far I've come since the opening hour of the game.
