Walking slowly through the bamboo forest, I met a wise master who upgraded his gourd to absorb defeated Yaoguai spirits. Pushing forward across a wooden bridge, I confronted a beast. I immobilized and defeated the creature real fast.
I stepped back into the quiet woods, taking the stone stairs down into the dense bamboo forest. Enjoying the atmospheric scenery, I held the controls to make my character walk at a slow pace rather than sprinting through the path.
Looking ahead, I spotted a figure resting by the trees and used photo mode to inspect the area, spotting a much larger creature patrolling the far side of the trail.
I backed away slightly to avoid drawing the attention of the larger beast, only to realize the figure resting near the path wasn't an enemy at all.
The old man greeted me and asked if I had seen the nameless souls floating along my journey. Explaining that my small gourd could serve a greater purpose, he magically pulled the vessel from my belt.
The master upgraded the container, blessed it with the divine ability to absorb the lingering spirits of defeated Yaoguais. Throwing the blessed gourd back to me, he remarked that our destinies were set, then turned back to mind his own business.
I tried to have more conversation with the master but it seemed like my business with him was done as he was not turning back to me. He seemed quite busy with whatever he was doing there.
With the newly upgraded vessel in hand, I turned toward the bridge where the massive monster was patrolling. Walking slowly across the wooden planks, I held my ground as the creature turned around and spotted me.
The beast rushed forward, revealing a massive, dragon-like form as it lunged across the bridge with a heavy opening attack.
I dodged its initial strike, stepped into close range, and began landing a series of heavy light-attack combos.
To lock the beast in place, I cast the immobilize spell and froze the creature. Taking advantage of the opening, I unleashed my full combo to break its remaining health and send the monster crashing to the ground.
Though the fight felt manageable, my health bar was nearly empty, so I raised the blessed gourd to take a deep sip and restore my vitality before moving further into the forest.
