Tips for making the best dinner rolls

Add the flour just until the dough is soft and your hands don’t stick to much. You want to keep the flour light so the dough will be as light and airy as it can be.

Want extra buttery rolls? Brush with butter before and after baking! When you brush them before they will get super golden and shiny on top. And when you brush them after baking, when they are fresh hot from the oven, some of the butter will sink in resulting is super flavorful dinner rolls.

  • 3 Tablespoons avocado oil, or other light oil
  • 2 Tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 Tablespoons salt
  • 3 Tablespoons yeast
  • 6 Cups flour
  • 3 Tbsp butter, melted

Instructions:

  1. In a bowl combine milk, oil, brown sugar, salt and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes or until foamy.
  2. Add 4 cups flour and with the help of a spatula mix it until you have a shaggy dough. Add more flour, ½ cup at a time and blend until you have a soft ball. Knead by hand for 10 minutes until a smooth soft ball is formed.
  3. Lightly grease a bowl, place the dough inside and cover with a cloth. Let it rise for 30 minutes.
  4. Gently deflate the dough, form a rectangle and cut 15 pieces. With the help of your hands for small balls.
  5. Place in a greased baking pan, cover again and let rise at room temperature for 30 minutes.
  6. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. After the 30 minutes have passed, brush the rolls with melted butter and take to the oven.
  7. Bake for 25 minutes or until golden brown and shiny.
