The beach is one of the most popular places to visit during work or school holidays. Indonesia, which is known as an archipelagic country, has many beaches. There are several world-famous beaches in Indonesia, one of which is the beach on the island of Bali. Yes, Bali is an island that has beautiful nature and beaches, so many foreign tourists visit Bali.
But, to go to Bali, it takes a lot of money to get there. In addition to transportation costs, lodging and food costs will also drain a lot of money. Well, in North Sumatra, there are beaches with Balinese nuances. But not as beautiful as in Bali. It is called Balinese nuance because it has many instagramable Balinese-themed photo spots. Many statues of gods and gates are like those in Bali.
For people who live around the city of Medan and don't have enough money to go to Bali, Bali Lestari beach is the right choice for taking pictures with a Balinese background. Today, I want to share some photos that I took while visiting Bali Lestari Beach in the Sergai district, North Sumatra, with my older sister.
Starting from the front yard of the beach where many colourful umbrellas are placed at the top. Many people take pictures and selfies in this area. Selfies with colourful umbrella backgrounds make the photos attractive and also beautiful. Especially if the target is a professional photographer, surely the results will be maximized.
Still, in the area around the beachfront yard, there are also Dwarpala statues and dancing goddesses. For Your Information, Dwarpala is a guardian statue of a sacred place in Balinese Hindu culture. The Dwarpala statue has a special meaning and philosophy for the Balinese people. But in this place, the statue is only a place to take pictures. Because the advantage of the beach here is the photo spot. In the vicinity, there are also statues of women who are dancing. Because Bali is also famous for its traditional dances, statues of dancers are made here.
It's no secret that the beaches in the Sergai district are not very attractive, because the water on the beach is not clear and brown. But it looks like the children are happy to swim on the beach. The only thing that makes this beach interesting is the photo spots with Balinese nuances.
The picture above is the Balinese Gapura. The Gapura is the most widely used by visitors to take pictures. In general, the Gapura is a gate for traditional buildings and places that are considered sacred. Every region in Indonesia has a different Gapura design. The Balinese Gapura has a unique and distinctive design. The Balinese and Javanese Gapura have architectural designs filled with carvings and statues that reflect the Balinese indigenous people and their beliefs.
The picture above is a statue that tells about the romance between Rama and the goddess Shinta. the story of Rama and Shinta is a Hindu folklore adopted from the story of Siya Ke Ram in India there. The statues of Rama and Shinta have a meaning about the obligation to respect, love and take care of loved ones.
Along the coast, there are statues of gods and goddesses. Given that the island of Bali is dubbed as the island of the gods. So the beach manager also made statues of gods such as Vishnu, Ganesha, Dewi Sri, the queen of the south coast, and mermaids. Each statue has a special story, meaning and philosophy. Among all the statues here, I like the Garuda Wisnu Kencana statue. Namely, the statue of the god Vishnu riding Garuda. Garuda is a mythological creature similar to a bird. Even the Garuda has become a symbol of Indonesia country.
Not only statues of gods and goddesses, but there is also a statue of a pair of white swans as a photo spot on this beach. Two swans facing each other form a heart symbol. This photo spot is perfect for lovers to make it look romantic. Since my older sister is a widow, she just took a photo of herself in the middle of the swan statue.
Apart from being a place for selfies and photos, Bali Lestari beach also provides an entertainment stage for visitors. Usually, there is live music and traditional dances on stage. Sometimes this place is also rented for music events. Previously, this place had also held a circus show. In front of the stage, there are also souvenir traders. For visitors who want to buy souvenirs from Bali Lestari beach, they can shop at this souvenir shop. The price is also relatively cheap.
Around the beach near the statues, Ondel-ondel dolls are also there to entertain and cheer up the children. The two ondel-ondel swayed and danced to make the children who visit this beach happy. For your information, Ondel-ondel is an art performance from Betawi culture. Ondel-ondel will always be present at Betawi traditional events such as weddings and circumcision.
Facilities at each beach must have huts to relax while looking at the beauty of the beach. Not only that, but the huts on the beach can also store heavy items such as bags, food supplies, etc. Eating together at the cottage while enjoying the beach is also very enjoyable.
The picture above is a restaurant on Bali Lestari beach. This restaurant provides a variety of seafood such as shrimp, squid, crab, etc. For visitors who love seafood, this restaurant is the place to be. I like the architectural design of this restaurant. In front of the entrance, there are two statues of women dressed in traditional Balinese dress, posing as if they were welcoming guests and saying welcome. Apart from that, the front of the pillar also really caught my attention, because there was a carved dragon coiled around the pillar.
That's all I can explain about this Bali Lestari beach. This beach is good for those of you who like to take pictures and selfies with a Balinese-themed background. Thank you for visiting and reading my post. I hope you guys like it. Greetings.
