Finally Ate at this New Place My Family and In-Laws Frequent!
There is a new food place that my family and in-laws and even friends have been going but due to various reasons, I have not been able to join any of their gatherings or eating out here at all until TODAY!
Sometimes it is because my tuitions end too late and the first few rounds was because my youngest son was sick. So when my class got cancelled unexpectedly, I was excited to say yes to dine here. LIKE FINALLY!
Honestly this place is really near from where I stay yet I still had no chance to come over. It is only a 5 to 7-minute drive.
Restoran Kari Kepala Ikan Taman Melawati or Melawati Residential Area's Curry Fish Head Restaurant (in translation from Malay)
Location: Jln Bandar, Taman Melawati, 53100 Kuala Lumpur, Selangor
Opening hours: 930am to 1159pm everyday
We parked our car opposite the restaurant near some food trucks area although after we walked near, we realized the restaurant did put out stands to reserve parking for its customers.
This restaurant is generally spacious and well ventilated with good hygiene. Hope they will really keep it that way. I was happy there weren't crowd the time we went because I get a bit stressed with too many people nowadays after covid.
There are many things in their menu actually, from roti to naan, to fried rice, fried noodles, rice with dishes and even meat skewers and soup. Too many for me to choose from.
However, my food and my husband's order took quite a while though there were not many people. We even reminded them. Thank God my brother-in-law ordered some beef and chicken meat skewers so we ate those first. They were very very delectable. The meat were plump and juicy so yeah I think they made it to the best satay (skewers in Malay) in our area! They are served with peanut sauce and some raw cucumbers as well as onions.
Finally my food came! It is daging masak merah which is beef cooked in red sauce the Malay way. It is a bit spicy as they added the bird-eye chilli in it. I had to take some white rice with it. The beef was tender, for which I am grateful for.
The husband ordered nasi goreng Pattaya which is fried rice wrapped in a fried egg. It is quite a typical Malay dish around here. He was a bit disappointed as there were no meat in his fried rice so I shared my beef with him.
We could overlook the food trucks area from our eatery. It looks so happening!
I also have not visited the food trucks after they have moved to this new designated area. So that is going to be my next target!!!
