There is one thing I have been cooking in my kitchen and my family loves it!
It is this steamed chicken!!!
Of course I wasn't expecting it to be this delicious. Here is how I made it and the ingredients:
馃悡Chicken thighs or whole chicken leg
馃悡ginger paste
馃悡scallions
馃悡soy sauce
馃悡oyster sauce
馃悡white pepper
馃悡corn starch
馃悡rice
Firstly, marinate the chicken with oyster sauce, light soy sauce, corn starch and white pepper. If you want to add in some chicken stock, feel free but I forgot about that hahaha. Let the marinade sit with the chicken for at least 20 minutes.
Next, remove the extra marinade from the tray and add in just a bit of water to the tray. Steam the tray of chicken over fire for 25 to 30 minutes.
In the meantime, let's cut up some scallions and add to the ginger paste. Chop some of the white part of the scallion, nearer to its root too.
Fry the white part of scallions along with some green parts too in hot oil to make scallion oil. Add in the extra marinade earlier to fry it up togethe. After the scallion turns brown, remove the scallion.
After that, drizzle the hot oil into the bowl of cut green scallions and ginger paste.
Now, when the chicken is already steamed up, if it has a lot of stock and chicken oil, dish it up amd set it aside to cook your rice with it. It will fragrant up the rice to another level! Excuse my pictures for all the steam fogging up the camera.
Last but not least, pour the oil gravy over the steamed chicken now and it is ready to be served!!!!
The chicken turned out to be so tender and moist!!! Loved it so much! I paired it with some green vegetables to balance the diet.
