It's been a while here so I decided to make a delicious welcome back to steemit which is why I will be teaching you how make one of my best local food moin-moin (bean cake)
Moin-moin is made from beans. It is a very popular food eaten by many people in my place. it is my food for breakfast.

Before getting moin-moin ready for eating, one has to undergo many steps.

  • Two or three cups of beans are measured out depending on the quantity you want to prepare.
  • Unwanted items are removed from the beans.
  • The beans is soaked inside water for about twenty minutes.
  • Washing takes place and in the process, the skin of the beans is removed.
  • At the end of the washing, the whole beans become white, ready for grinding.
  • Pepper (preferably fresh pepper), onions and crayfish are added and sometimes you might add beef to it if you like.
  • The beans is now ready for grinding on a grinding machine or òlótá(a local grinding stone).
  • More ingredients and spices such as curry, salt, egg (already boiled egg so as not to mix with the grinded beans), oil, are added.
  • The paste is thoroughly mixed and measured into; small stainless tin or nylon bags or into special green leaves and put into a pot to boil. It is completely covered for the pot to get enough heat.
  • After boiling for about twenty-five to thirty minutes the pot is brought down to allow its contents to cool. It is now ready to be eaten.

Moin-moin can be served alone or with; Pap, rice, bread, cassava-flakes

I like moin-moin because of it's nice aroma and delicious taste. Besides, it is a protein giving food.
