In the past years, I have been photography with friends in the US when meteor showers hit the strongest. So I was traveling to the US again in the summer of 2022 and decided to also pay a visit to the Bisti Badlands. As you will see it was absolutely worth the 8-hour detour.
Walking into the area I have seen multiple fabulous photo opportunities just the first ten minutes into the hike. Specifically for light painting, photographers tend to appreciate not too big formations, because one can easily light them up. This is perfect here at Bisti.
Because of a thunderstorm coming into the very region I was in I only got to shoot one of the three spots that I had planned to spend some time with. The good news is that I will have to go there again and feature the remaining parts. Stay tuned.
Here you will see some highlights of the scenic route I took, you'll see some impressions of the area, and some drone footage to enjoy. Through this, I hope you get an idea of what to expect when you plan your visit.
In den vergangenen Jahren habe ich mit Freunden in den USA fotografiert, wenn Meteoritenschauer am st盲rksten runter gekommen sind. So reiste ich im Sommer 2022 erneut in die USA und beschloss, auch den Bisti Badlands einen Besuch abzustatten. Wie Ihr sehen werdet, hat sich der 8-st眉ndige Umweg absolut gelohnt.
Als ich in die Gegend ging, habe ich bereits in den ersten zehn Minuten der Wanderung mehrere fabelhafte Fotomotive gesehen. Gerade beim Lightpainting sch盲tzen Fotografen eher nicht zu gro脽e Formationen, da man dies dann gut ausleuchten kann. Das ist hier bei Bisti perfekt.
Da in der Gegend, in der ich mich befand, ein Gewitter aufzog, konnte ich nur einen der drei Spots fotografieren, an denen ich einige Zeit verbringen wollte. Die gute Nachricht ist, dass ich noch einmal dorthin muss, um die verbleibenden Spots zu shooten. Bleibt dran.
