I want to start by sharing that in a few days, I’ll be celebrating my 24th year of life, and I hope to celebrate it in style, as this privilege of completing another trip around the Sun deserves.
In my official job, I’ve taken on the responsibility of presiding over the Honorary Chair “Africa Caribbean,” and I also have to complete an individual training plan as a backup for my department heads. On top of that, my Master’s in Education Sciences is reaching the core of the research phase. So:
That is precisely the “noise” I referred to in the title of this post.
Hence the need and importance of learning to listen to the signals from our body that foreshadow a well-deserved rest, a necessary pause...
As the post that introduced this topic says, the signals can vary: muscle or eye fatigue, body aches, stress, insomnia, or anxiety. Reaching this point is the last straw.
If you don’t give your body and mind rest, your body will take it anyway.
So my advice is this: to avoid these issues in my own life, for example, I asked the DeepSeek AI to create a weekly routine for me and inserted the activities I usually do each day, clarifying that it had to respect my rest periods. The AI brilliantly responded with a plan divided into flexible time slots and techniques like the famous 50/20 rule (50 minutes of productivity, 20 minutes of rest before the next task). Asking for help is not a bad thing, whether for planning or for carrying out the tasks themselves.
Also, vacations are part of the year for a good reason. Traveling, sleeping until noon, watching your favorite movies or the latest releases, cooking your favorite meal or going out to eat it, walking to visit someone or simply walking for the sake of it—and taking the opportunity to learn to understand the other ways our body speaks to us and the requests it makes.
Thanks for reading.
With love: Vicky ❤️
